    Anyone know the brand and/or if it can integrate into Home Assistant?

      Most likely the backend is supported tuya.

    • I am keen to know too.

    Has anyone had experience putting these on an apartment door?

    • Better check with your body corporate. I know a mate who was given notice to change their Samsung smart lock back to one that was acceptable by the OC. Some apartments do not allow you to change the locks on your front door.

      1. Technically the part of your door that faces the common area may be OC property;
      2. There's some thing about fire safety where emergency services need to be able to get into your apartment.

        Correct, check your bylaws if there is specific rules on changes.

        The biggest issue is Fire rating. I have looked into and got told by a locksmith I had to have a certain lock, with a certain key access for fire services. Magically that lock was $1k compared to this.

        Generally your Building Manager (if you have one) needs to have a copy of key for access in emergency. But this can be a grey area as people aren't comfortable with their BM having access.

        At price point you could probably get away with it, but I'd still sus out a Plan B for emergency and someone needs to access you when you are passed out.

    Can this be connected to wifi? Bought the handle one last time but it only had bluetooth :/

  • Looks very similar to some Tuya locks on Aliexpress. Can’t post the link but search by pictures will show almost identical items.

    • what's the exact name of the AE product?

  • Would I be correct in assuming the display for the video doorbell on the "other side" is your phone that has the app?

    Bought one today and it was easy to install. I replaced existing key lock. The app is tuya based smart home app. I don't really like the app so far but the lock works fine. Connect's to wifi 2.4 only. Have used fingerprint,passcode and smart tag and all working fine. Very similar to the Bunnings one.

    • Which Aldi store did you get it from if you don't mind sharing? Were there many left? I didn't even bother looking after they put up the "experieincing delays" notice up on the product page a day before launch.

      • I thought the same but when I checked it seemed that NSW had plenty of stock with no delays. Bought mine from Moss Vale nsw

    You can unlock via app and check camera and converse . You get a message on the app when someone presses the doorbell. It gives you options to see , speak or unlock
