For those playing along at home, that's roughly a 16% 'discount' on the gift card. Still a decent deal, but there are 15% off deals on various gift cards pretty regularly.

Can't recall seeing 15% for Woolies, Bunnings and Amazon

  • There is no way to buy/top up telstra plus points, right?

Did a mod change the title from spending 13,800 points? The website says the deal is for redeeming points for gift cards, not purchasing gift cards.

    • Probaby none here actually bothers.

FYI, Amazon $10 was for 5460 pts in my post last year this time, but it is for 5200 pts after 100x pts back now. The saving is minute, just for users to accept the increase.

they can only be purchased by redeeming points :)

    Can I clarify?
If I buy $310 Amazon Gift Card, I will get 31000 points.
Then I can redeem this points to get $50 Amazon Gift card (30800 points).
    Am I understand correctly?

Edit : not possible to buy gift cards. Looks like only get points if you buy telstra merchandise or phone.

  • For those who bought more than 1 gift card: check your bonus points, my first transaction $100 was not granted the bonus points!
Second transaction (lower amount) only got bonus points.
Really misleading if only one purchase was allowed, and then they only counted the lowest purchase!

Telstra support is asking to wait the full 14 business days. It doesn't matter that the the points from the second order are the only ones that are credited.
