Cheapest I seen this keyboard brand new~! I've had this keyboard for about 6 months and paid $45 second hand but absolutely love it!!. It has features for gaming but best of all there is backlit lighting for the keys which there is thousands of different colours. I love it because it has a USB input on the top and headphone and microphone jack. Good for mouses or portable hard drives or just normal usb sticks.

Cheapest from Logitechshop was $60
Cheapest from Staticice = $64

Not to sure why dicksmith has been banned but this is a great and deserves it's own post.

-Great for gamers
-Great backlit colour customizable features

dicksmith but linked to gamesmen ?

    • I can't link it to dicksmith.com.au directly, seems to have been banned to stop dupes.

      • Good work around! Thanks for sharing as a a mate was in need of a new keyboard.

Would probably be better to link to the logitech G110 page if you can't link to Dick Smith.

so that's how you do it coz been trying to post it 6 hours ago but dse domain is banned :) anyway as i've said on the other post ($10 starcraft dse), it was displayed as clearance before new year for $53.96 (40% off) so i bought via click and collect but missed the 24 hour reservation limit coz i was out of town, checked it last night and it's only $40 (cheaper than clearance) so i got one and picked it up today, not sure if this is a pricing error coz the guy at the counter was surprised as well since the normal price is about $80 and said he's gonna keep one for himself

        • ^ Props! you found a fantastic deal.

This domain is currently BANNED on OzBargain.
Reason: Continual posting of the same deal, Expiry: 02/01/2013 - 23:20

seems its banned for another 10min

  • i have this keyboard, its alright. Its quite big and bulky, and everytime i download their logitech software for the customizable keys, my computer dosent run right. lol. so its stuck on one colour. i paid about $130. but $40 is quite a good bargain!

    • I thought it was quite slim and looked nice when you leave the palm rest part off. Yes it's great I loved this and would even contemplating to replace this one!

      • +1

haahh, the damn arm wrist is annoying as hell.

    • Yeah I have this keyboard and love it. Don't think I paid anywhere near $130.

Can't comment on the software, I only play FPS stuff and have no need for the custom keys so have never used the Logitech software!

  • Paid $54 inc delivery in Nov 2011. I will be getting a replacement shortly. At an angle you can't see the LED buttons from the reflection of your screen; bad if you can't touch type. The buttons are tacky and awkward to type on and I didn't even bother attaching the wrist rest. For something you use all the time, get a better keyboard. Function keys good for games.

    • At an angle you can't see the LED buttons from the reflection of your screen; bad if you can't touch type.

True, The G-Buttons on the left do take some time to avoid I noticed, But 2 weeks later it begins to second nature (location of keys that is) but I guess that's like every keyboard though. Oh I also forgot to mention you can turn the lights off easily and disable CTRL - windows keys with the toggle on the top which is quite easy. To reduce minimizing accidents.

I really like this keyboard and will vouch, the best is the volume scroll'er on the right/mute button and the play/stop/next/back features dedicated to music lovers.

      • +3

the best is the volume scroll'er

exactly why i havent replaced mine after many years of use. Still waiting on a cherry blue kb with a volume wheel.

        • My gigabyte aivia osmium has cherry red switches but does have an awesome volume scroll wheel….. It is a shame there aren't other switch options for this board

  • -2

It concerns me that the description on the page has nothing about the actual keys on it. Eg what type of keys they are (blue red etc..).

    • Any shade between blue and red. No green

      • Nvm :P

        • +1

At $40, I really didn't think anyone would mistake this for a mechanical kb :/

    • +2

They aren't mechanical if that is what you're thinking.

    • are you referring to it having mechanical switches? if so, it's not a mechanical keyboard.

    • +1

Did you even bother scrolling down just a little?

The Logitech G110 Gaming Keyboard is what you need to step up your game–custom-colour backlighting, integrated USB audio, twelve programmable G-keys, and a whole lot more.

      Custom-colour backlighting*
You can easily locate the correct keys, even in the dark. Plus, you can mix red and blue backlighting LEDs in varying intensities to create custom colours.

      Twelve programmable G-keys
Three macros per key let you configure up to 36 unique functions per game, including single keypresses or complex macros. You can even create macros on the fly.

  • great, any mouse deal by any chance?

  • I got OW to pricematch thelogitechshop a year or so ago… wonder if they still will http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/search/g110

    • if they stock it they should, but expect most of them to pull the below cost price bs

      • Coming from someone who use to work in fast food trust me when I say sometimes the less people feel important the more they feel the need to assert their authority. Most people aren't like this and would just price match against a printed screen capture of the website but some feel the need to tell people they are wrong… Last time I tried to get something price matched it was the HL-2132 printer from Dick Smith and it was like $5 cheaper with the pricematch and they just stood me in front of the counter while they tried to find a reason to not match it for 10 minutes until I said "don't worry about it" and just paid and left.

  • +1

At this price, I would have gone with this instead of a mechanical keyboard.

That said, mechanical keyboards are awesome :P If you can't get this deal, I suggest blowing the budget a little and getting one. You won't believe it until you try it :)

  • Excellent deal for an awesome keyboard. I bought one for $54 when Dick Smith did the 40% of KBs in the XXXL sale about 7 months ago. Even at that price it was worth every cent.

It's the best keyboard I've ever owned. Love the volume scroller and overall design and feel of it. All the macro G-buttons are a godsend, especially if you do any programming or need lots of macro shortcuts.

I grew up with mechanical keyboards in the 90s and still had an old one before I upgraded to this and really can't understand the hype. Would replace this one with another G110 in a heartbeat if it ever died.

  • I'm not a big fan of installing extra software to use peripherals. Can you use the G-keys without installing the logitech junk?

    • Not that I know of, although I got to say it's a non-intrusive extra software so it's good thing.
Only uses about 54000 K memory and you only really need it open when you need it to change something.

    • I can vouch for what aerona said, it hides in the background nicely and doesn't come with a whole bunch of junk you don't need. I think I installed the basic one and not the full suite, mine uses less than 20MB of RAM. You need it to program/use the macros and also it is used for setting up the personal colour backlights.

By default without installing the software you will be stuck with the blue backlight. The software lets you set 3 different coloured backlights switch-able by keyboard function keys. I've set mine up for red, purple and blue. Red is the brightest of the colours, the rest are fairly dull.

  • Windows only?

    • DSE specs says it works with Mac, so probably yes.

    • It'll work with Mac, but I don't think the Logitech software is available for OS X, so some functions won't be available, ie. the G keys.

  • Integrated USB audio & headphone jack?

G110 is supported by Gnome15 under linux:

    http://www.gnome15.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=art…

    • Integrated USB audio & headphone jack?

You can plug headphones and a mic into the top of the keyboard. Most gaming keyboards have that feature nowadays.

  • just bought one from officeworks with price match & 5% cheaper

very confuse with key M1, M2 & M3, i only can change those led light when the logitech software opened

    anyone help pls

    • How did you get the price match? This sounds like an idea for me. Seems stock levels are out in Brisbane….will they check that and say "no deal"?

      • Just show the dse web page on the phone, and they have to give u $2 cheaper than $40。 ψ(`∇´)ψ
They can't say nooooo, that is policy from officeworks

    • The M1, M2 & M3 keys will only work with the logitech software running in the background. Same with the G-keys for macros. It should stay running in the background on your taskbar.

  • Can anyone confirm the length of the USB cable? I probably have to go wireless, but if it has a 2m+ cord it will work because I really want a back-lit keyboard for my HTPC (yes this might be overkill).

    • +1

Order a USB extension cable for like $1-$2 off ebay if you need.

    • Around 1.5 m

  • Stafford has 1, brookside had (might still have) 1

    • I actually have one ordered from Toombul, but if I can pricematch at Office Works then I can just pick it up in the city (if they have any) and let someone else have the Toombul one.

  • Anyone know if there's a button on the KB that lets you turn off the backlighting? (Or if you can confirm if the lights switch off when the PC's off….by mouse/kb lights tend to stay on atm)

    • There's a button that does switch off illumination. Watch this video, it helps a lot.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjZHTxqQmrY

      EDIT:
As for the lights off when PC's off. I havent got one yet, but i would assume they would stay on (for my pc anyway). Reason i think this is i know when i leave external hard drives or other usb devices, they stay powered when my pc is off. Many nights ive been woken up by an annoying blinking light from across the room before i storm over and rip out a poor unsuspecting usb device. Theres probably a bios setting or something to change this behavior but im happy to just hit the illumination toggle for now.

      • Haha that's exactly why I was asking. As long as there's a switch I'm more than happy. I already power off my monitors, an extra button won't kill me.

        • Can confirm, lights turn off when pc is off!

  • I reserved one through click and collect, but just realized i probably wont be able to collect it till tomorrow. Anyone know how long they hold it for?

    • 24hrs after confirmation sms.

      • awesome, ill get it tomorrow morning then if need be! Thanks!

  • How quiet are the keys on this ? My PC is in the bedroom and I can't type at night it keeps my partner awake

    • It's a Gamers keyboard so noise reduction wasn't really considered(so quite loud) but durability was, I would suggest maybe getting a mechanical keyboard for offices/sharedrooms.

      • +10

        or a new partner

  • for someone who missed the deal, I got three of them reserved, contact me if you would like a share 0499606055 Henry

    • What city are you in dude

      • Lismore mate, can post them to you if you still want, only one left now

  • Damn, checked store stock last night and my two closest stores had stock, now they are both out :(

  • I have a reservation in mornington but I getting a mechanical keyboard instead

  • 3 left in glebe officeworks :)

    $38

    • OW still selling this for $69, is this just an instore special ???

      • nah, all you need to do is price matching, but OW always have bs to say they cannot do this and that lower than their impo price or sty

        • ah yes totally forgot this stupid PRICEMATCH thing, and yes bloody Bigw sux when it comes to that $168 PS3 deal !!!!

  • typing this on the new keyboard, very nice. finding it very difficult to avoid hitting the G keys on the left however. Otherwise seems fantastic. love the volume scroller and the inbuilt headphone, mic jack and usb. finding the shift key is awkward, perhaps i will get used to it in time.

  • just walked in to dicksmith and got my starcraft2 and the g110 keyboard..very nice sales told me the keyboard was on sale!was out only spended $50.

    • Do you know where they would still have Starcraft 2 in stock? Thanks

      • you have to search it through the dicksmith website once you are in the starcraft 2 product page.i went to the store in rockdale nsw. for starcraft2 you have to order it online first.

  • Thanks, grabbed the last keyboard at my local store.

Lettering on keys is very small and thin (compared to a razer blackwidow gaming keyboard - I have one sitting right next to the G110 for comparison) and with the razer, they keys are much easier to read.

I did turn the colour of the letters from blue to red and that does make it easier to read and brighter.

In terms of typing - very quiet and smooth (well in comparison to a mechanical keyboard).

  • Does anyone else have issues with the 'Check store stock' button? I press it but it just reloads the product page.

    • It happened with my netbook, only thing I could think of is browser or not enough ram lol.

  • I bought this nd seriously if ur not playing warcraft it just wasting ur money. I play LOL onli, dun actually need it

    • My G buttons are set to shortcuts Diablo 3 and steam.

  • Just got the last one from Chatswood Chase :D

  • just got two more ;)

  • Just picked up mine. Looks like the last one they had too! Off to unwrap my belated christmas present to myself..

  • Just picked up 1 from OW in Vermont South with 5% price beat for $38. Nice and easy. No questions asked. I think it was the 2nd last one so yeh.. Gona see how it is when I get home.

  • So. G6 for ozbargain? I think so!

  • OW wouldn't price match claiming they couldn't price match an item that wasn't in stock.

Ended up going to DSE and buying it there.

    Thanks for sharing the deal!

  • going to return tomorrow, hard to be used with G keys, some of them are always confliction

  • +2

Just a FYI, got a price match on OW, North Parramatta, however they didn't have in stock so i had to get it on order, said they will give it to me on thursday.

  • I have one of these unopened for $40. Pick up from Tullamarine 3043 with original receipt. Happy to pass it on to someone who missed out as I bought it for a mate but he ended up getting one himself.

PM if interested otherwise I will just return it.
