I'm not against these 'free' movie streaming posts but a month in advance seems excessive?

I'm sure theres good content coming in 2026 too…who will be 'first'

    • but a month in advance seems excessive?

fyi I think I posted Alien: Romulus around 60 days out. it was fine. but I posted a Netflix movie coming in July and the post got removed with warning: "maximum valid deal limit = XX days".

so there is a limit. I basically wrote in the post that I'm posting it now because I will probably forget about it. but now i remember the title. and will post a link as a reminder to myself. https://www.justwatch.com/au/movie/the-old-guard-2

  • I was wondering why this movie didn't have many good votes. I watched it now I kinda know why.

I thought "The Raid" (haven't watched it) by the same director was popular among people who liked kungfu/fighting movies, it's even been recommended to me a couple times. so thought this would be popular action movie on ozb.

the fighting scenes were intense and good, but there were a lot of things that were just meh. for example the use of special effects was worse than the movie "Ash" that I also posted. idk try not to spoil it, but the scene at the beginning where the camera zooms in and out and around just didn't look at all realistic, especially when the cop car gets stuck in the mud and then speeds off, it was so obvious the frame with the actors and cop car being stuck was real but then it speeds off like a fake CG car and that just didn't look right. I had the same problem with the Gyllenhall vs Mcregor movie Roadhouse, the bridge scene was just so weird and fake looking (I think it wasn't CG though, but how they recorded it slow, then speed it up 3x in the movie). the good thing about stream release though is they can literally go back and edit/fix this and you get a better version a month later.

other than that it started off good with plenty of drama/non action scenes, corrupt cop did some bad stuff he feels guilty, some graphic gore, but overall it was a bit ridiculous. number of bullets fired in entire movie, 10 million probably. the number of times the actor in action scene runs out of bullets and slides and picks up another gun to keep shooting, like 20 times. the number of times some guns seem to shoot infinite bullets, like 10 times. the number of times the character gets a hail of bullets exactly where they are but ducks/slides and not one of them causes injury, like 5 times. the number of times the camera turns the corner and there is just some minion standing there with a gun and gets blasted away by the main character like 5 times. I liked the spearfishing scene though. they obviously use Tom Hardy to sell the entire movie, but only a bit better than most of Netflix exc slop and that's really not saying too much.

    • the fighting scenes were intense and good,

should really say, really enjoyed the first fight scene and how it was intense fast paced action. but on the 3rd and 4th time of repeating the vibe it got old really fast.
