I feel they are a BARGAIN worth sharing!!

I think that this is a bargain.

    • +11

Welcome to OZB, @freeb1e4me you have NO DEALS yet. When you do, I think you will find its based on feel, you feel, I feel! :) thanks for your comment:)

      • +1

Crickets from freeloader what ever their name is

    • +2

Taste is subjective. Therefore, if OP feels the taste is better than the price point implies, it is a bargain to him/her.

  • -6

Is the wine or the code a bargain?

If it's the code, then this is duplicated post.

If it's the wine, all winery every day price 6/12 packs would be a deal.

    • THIS from the bloke who thinks $32 93 point wine from clonakilla is a deal at $27.99.

I've also been to clonakilla a few times

They had to get fruit from SA after the bushfires cos their own grapes weren't good enough.

Then at no more than 20pc off it's not a deal.

Then it's a $27.99 93 point bottle which would be $10-$18 at most brands in Barossa Clare Valley Adelaide Hills or McLaren vale.

I think we've established the pile on bashing Flutterby gives anyone but clonakilla they declare they are associated with.

      • -1

No point accusing me of being associated with Clonakilla, it is merely one of the many wineries I have been to and holding onto bottles from mid 2010s.

        1. Not associated with Clonakilla.
        2. I have also posted a beer deal, discount from RPP.
        3. Why go back when it is bad?
        4. 93 points is 93 points. Most wine critics do a lot of creative writing (ahem Sam Kim).
        • I think we've found the rationale of your particular attacks on other wine brands.

          • @[Deactivated]: I also think we have found your fetish for sub $10 WA wines.

            • @Flutterby: Never bought a $10 wine let alone one from WA. You keep being you tho son.

    • Have you checked with Bec Hardy and what was the reply? I get my orders maybe taking 1 to 2 weeks to WA.
Edit: sorry thought you meant from this winery :)

  • @RD ADL We always enjoy your wine bargains Richard. Any chance of putting a deal together of a dozen sparkling for a long time customer?

    • -8

That would be nice and worth a deal post, as long as it is not a "deal" for the usual price.

  • +2

    It's a 3.6 @ VV but tbh at $10 per bottle I'm sure it's a good wine. Shame I've got already like 50 bottles of other things…

    In vino veritas

    • +4

Yea, I am the same but purchased as it will only taste better over time and wanted to support this winery as they seem to always get attacked by a few, for nothing except trying to make a living. Last thing we want is to have sellers stay away from OZB because of petty attacks.

      • +1

Absolutely. It's gonna be very nice in 4-6 years!

        • +2

No many comes close to Wynns black for cellaring at the bottom end under $30/bottle.

      • +1

        "taste better over time"

They don't. Some good wine will mature well for long term cellaring, $10 a bottle? Sure

No one attacked the wine or the winery other than shonky quotation on RRP and unobtainable single bottle pricing.

    • +1

      My favourite Latin saying.

    • +1

Well, for one example, the 2024 Pinot Grigio that Richard had posted for under $10 a bottle with free delivery was $19 a bottle at one of my local bottle shops. I fail to see how you can say that good quality wine being offered at genuine discounts of 50% or more off RRP is a small discount. Yes, I have had many other wines from Bec Hardy, and all have been of very good quality, though not all to my taste, and I think that is what some people get confused with: taste versus quality. Added to which, Bec Hardy is Australian owned, not American owned like the similarly named Hardy's Wines. So the profits stay in Australia.

P.S. Good luck with Trump's tariffs.

Caught me! Yep, I have been waiting here patiently as a member on OZB since 2009 just to make this post :) Sorry to disappoint you but NO relationship with this winery. But since you mention it are you? you enjoyed a pinot from them maybe you are associated, not interested in creating attacks and sorry if you feel that I have!

      • +6

No Probs, been here since 2009 and before actually when scotty first started OZB, never used a NEG in all that time just don't see the point. I see a bargain I buy, if its not for me I move on.

        • -7

It's not a contest, nor anything impressive or noble mate.

I'm not too sure what's the go here but all the best to ya anyway

          • +1

@FlatulentFrank: Agree, never said I was noble and respect your opinion, just saying if its NOT for me , I move on.

  • -1

Ps we are running low on the pinot gris

  • +4

I’ve bought 3, maybe 4 of the Bec Hardy wine deals from OzB over the years.
    My verdict?
I think they’re cheap crap, definitely not worth the money

    • what did you not like about it?

      • +1

Bought a couple of Shiraz. Worst wine I’ve tasted, & I’ve had some bad ones. Wouldn’t even recommend it for bolognese.
Very sour, lacking body, no aftertaste.
Let’s be straight here. It’s crap

        • Each to their own, but I have really enjoyed - over several years - BH’s pinot noir, and their Pertaringa scarecrow sauvignon blanc.

Hope you took the opportunity to give them your feedback.

        • +1

completely agree, got 12 bottles of 2021 shiraz, couldn't believe how bad it was. Was sure I wouldn't get punked on a blind purchase of 12 bottles. But I guess I just don't know enough about wine…

          • @deanb: It is a bottle that normally sells for $10. Yellow tail goes for about the same price.

Wouldn't try to fool anyone that it is a great wine.

        • +1

To be fair I don't buy the shiraz, but have tried it. I've just gone off that grape generally last few years. I'll get the cabs and pinots from RDL. I'm not one to write-off an entire winery due a single varietal. It's rare to find a place that does it all well and those places aren't selling $10 wines.

    • -5

Sorry to hear it was not for you, please post deals if you have better, always happy to try. Wine is so subjective and I have found Bec Hardys to be good value, not saying it will compare to grange but for $10 bucks its my pick.

    • +2

Lol shows you know nothing about wine. Keep being you old mate. More left for the rest of us

    • I've bought a few cases, the only ones I really enjoyed were some cab savs, shiraz was very average and the pinot noir had none of the unique characteristics you'd expect, it was just a sorta light vaguely sweet red. No complexity or layers. There are definitely better pinots for similar money available.

  • Shipping is $20. Total cost $140. Might want to update the title to $120 plus shipping? Even at $140, $11.66 per bottle seems ok. I haven't tried so can't comment on quality.

    • +3

      use code OZBARGAIN
      for free shipping

    • +1

Shipping is $0 for those competent enough to use the clearly posted code

  • +1

Looks like the code works for multiple cases and there are some other wines around this price point: https://bechardy.com.au/collections/hidden-products?sort_by=…
haven't tried any, but Wine Shed Award Winners Mixed 12 Pack might be alright for $10/bottle?

    • +1

      I would recommend this https://bechardy.com.au/products/museum-pertaringa-yeoman-sh…

Combined with their generous refund policy of you don't like the wine.

      • unobtainable as a deal unfortunately

        • I would, but mod will probably take it down as a troll post like my corona deal that is 40 cents cheaper than the next cheapest with the majors.

If it is not honour in good faith, there's always xCAt. I am certain Mr. Hardy will share the relevant information on how to put an xCAT case together.

          • @Flutterby:

40 cents cheaper than the next cheapest with the majors

            Every cent counts?

    • Yep was going to say the code seems to work for others but wasn't sure, glad it does. I did get the mix on one of my last orders and yes, good way to try and see if you like their wines.

  • +3

OP, always keep posting wine bargain despite the haters
