meh… $1900 feels like an average price to pay in 2025 for a 55" oled…..
Price is ok, but likely reflects that with 2025 OLED models from multiple brands we're seeing a big uplift in picture processing through AI that Sony can't really outpace.
Hopefully it means that Sony TVs are no longer an entire tier more expensive than competing models for most consumers. Was never worth it.
It sure is. I got the 55" A80J for just under $1500.
I would love to buy this just for my partner's reaction to anything slightly bigger than our 43"! Try telling her that 55" is kind of small these days.
once you go 60" or above
you never go back
Made in Japan?
Thailand maybe.
Indonesia or Malaysia maybe?
Who knows anymore..
I had sony for a while after switching from samsung.. Not a fantastic experience, had XRX90j 55 had pink line and xrx90j 75 black line. Sony were great replace both of them with "k" models then both 55 and 75" had panel issues and got replaced. Still have the 75k in manland but upgraded to Samsung s90c 77 and 55.
Strangely I have a x80j in the garage that's been dropped, inhaled saw dust and what not but just keeps going.
Repair guy said I just had bad luck with Sony
No bad luck I have same issue, they are fixing it next week. But had to use the consumer affairs card to get them to fix out of warranty.
As soon as it’s fixed it’s hitting marketplace and I’ll be getting an oled prob lg
I had a bunch of pixels go out on a 4K Screen after a move within warranty, repair guy came out and said insect had got in and died - not covered by warranty only to read about this happening to heaps of people because of a Sony redesigned case.
So turned it off and put away for a couple of years after getting an LG OLED , recently got it out of storage and it's fine again.
So you can try turning it off and on again, worked for me.
lol
I thought Sony was quality for their hardware. Clearly not. The software is S….
What's going on Sony?
Get samsung with edu 50% discount. Might be able to help you out if you're willing to roll the dice with me.
Hi what’s the 50% disc?
Sony seems to damage a lot of TV boxes. Wasn't there talk previously of these being warranty returns reboxed?
They call it box damaged so retailers don't complain when they get undercut
This. I bought one years ago and it was brand new in (undamaged) box.
Also prevents any price matching concerns
I bought a "refrib" and it was the same. Perfectly boxed and the service menu showed it had been run for 0 hours.
But there have been more than a few horror stories of getting actual returns.
@Kanjus: Something like this. Varies with what the remote is.

I have read countless reports of people receiving a TV with a foot through it when the box was in tact. I'm sorry but this is a myth so don't believe this nonsense. It's simply known as T2 stock meaning you may or may not receive a TV in one piece.
I bought a 75j about two years ago from the Sony refurbished shop. It took months to get and when it arrived it had fork holes through the box and the panel. They replaced it but experience with how slow they were to deliver put me off. Hopefully they have improved.
If anyone recalls the writing and symbols on the sony boxes. Does it state "handle with care" "do not put forks this (profanity) tv"
Received my recent Sony 65" today. Seconds but it was brand new. Arrived country WA in 8 days and all good so far. Very happy.
What happened to the Skyworth / Metz TVs?
How long do Sony take to ship out seconds items? Purchased something a few days ago but no movement
Bought 85" Thank you
Got the 75" Bravia 9 for just over $4k thanks!
Reckon that's the lowest Ive seen it!
Now let's hope the one I get isn't DOA
Ebay return policy is excellent
Very tempted on a 55 inch Sony OLED for PS5 gaming, and mixed movie TV binging
Anyone want to weigh in on the LG C4 and Samsung S90D?
Even though we might be splitting hairs and bordering on a religious debate?
Anyone wanna talk me out of any particular option?
All the same panel so its personal preference of OS. From memory the Samsung doesnt have as many 1.4HDMI inputs as Sony (or its shared with eArc).
I love my sony OLED.
As you own a PS5, I'd recommend the Sony over LG or Samsung.
If you screenshare to TV often, Sony has Apple Airplay whereas Samsung has MirrorCast for Samsung devices.
Whilst the 90D is a superior QD-OLED panel (not to be underestimated) that can potentially even be modded for extra brightness, there are a lot of complaints about motion handling and VRR flicker on the Samsungs. This to date hasn't been addressed and is unlikely to be. Not sure about how well Sony handles motion (though I'd imagine they're better than Samsung), but LG's are the safest all round option on this front.
I received my Bravia 8. Brand new. No box damage at all. 0hrs. This is my 4th time getting a new tv.
To the bozos who keep saying it's a lucky dip… you just keep on buying at retail stores. Good luck with that.
What is the 15% off coupon? Showing up as $100 flat discount for me with eBay plus.
Edit: nevermind I'm blind, it's SONYAUSMARCH15
