I've got a flight coming up and looks like I had forgotten the combination I set few years back. Any idea how to reset? Would buying a TSA key from Amazon open it up or do I need to take the stupid suitcase anywhere?

Why is the suitcase "stupid"? After all it was the OP who was stupid enough not to safely record the combination.
For the time-rich and to save money, you could brute-force the combination; try all 1k combinations in one sitting but having done it before that gets tedious and it's easier to break it up over 10 sessions with 100 numbers each time (e.g. try 000-099 in the first sitting, 100-199 in the second sitting, etc).
Even better if you have kids/nephews/nieces, get them to brute force it and bribe em with a gift at the end for whoever figures out the right combo.
When I was still teaching, the number of times I had to do this for students' combination bike locks at the start of the year, was astounding. New bike, new lock, forgot the combination by home time.
The 3 number locks I could usually crack in 10 to 15 minutes; the first one of the year usually took the longest. The 4 digits required a phone call to parents, wasn't going to sit there spinning the dials for 10000 combos.

I tried to do this on a Samsonite bag, none of the YT videos helped. I bought a new lock online. They are easy to change as long as the bag is open
You bought a new lock instead of trying all 1000 combinations (000-999) which would have taken you 10-15 mins?
You can 3D print a tsa key.
Do you have a picture of the lock?
If it's a standard 3 number combination lock, you could have run all of the possible numbers in the time it took to post this and read the responses. It isn't that hard.
