Looks like Supercheap Auto Club members get $30 credit too?

    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/spend-and-getathon

    • Goes so but also worth noting that's not cashback just $40 to spend towards something else in the future, looking on the T&C doesn't seem that anything related to using a coupon excludes the ability to earn that credit!

    • +1

Correct - i picked one up this morning

      • The credits also applied to your account?

    • Nice just logged into my account can confirm $30 was loaded as a bonus 👍

      • Sweet :)

        • Will go towards carwash products I'm pretty sure haha

  • +1

I still dunno how to feel about the brand but you can’t deny it’s a great price for this model based on the math. ATL? It’s a + from me. Surely SCA will be decent to deal with in event of issue.

    • I've had no problems with my AC2A Battery, I have also joined a few facebook groups since and haven't seen anyone unhappy with their products, the company back them with the 5 Year Warranty.

      • +1

Bluetti products are reputed to have poor support from the company.Ecoflow is apparently way better in this regard.

        • +3

I kind of disagree. Had problem with AC70 and they collected and repaired it within a week. Had problem with Charger1 a few days ago, now a new unit is on its way to me, without me having to return the faulty unit.

  • -5

    Will this granny charge EV?

    • +9

Not sure if you’re serious or joking. Even if you managed to charge, you will be lucky to get 4 KM with a total capacity of 864Wh

    • +2

It would be pretty useless, the watt hours plus output wouldnt be that good. "Granny" charging would need 2400w.

  • +1

Thanks Op, purchased for our camper and to use at home for blackouts.

    • Nice one did you do install pickup or delivery?

      • +1

just missed pickup for EP store so did delivery.

        • Gotcha, I also can see Yamanto has limited availability

  • +3

More for our collection @easternculture? Free power hours is the only way I can charge them all.

    • +1

      I solved that issue with 2 EV & 4 Tesla Powerwalls 😅

      • +1

Lol saw this comment and thought I only know of one guy who would have 4 powerwalls, see your vids in the owners club facebook group
        Small world

      • No point investing in solar and powerwalls when i havent paid electricity for over 2 years

    • +1

thresold is now $269 after scoring the the 1Kw Mitre10 powerstation

  • I’m sure more deals with this will come again but what solar panels are required for this I see there are a few on the site.

    • +1

      Sometimes not as frequent unfortunately,

As for solar panels I use this mat for my AC2A Bluetti https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/897599

      • How do you find the solar panels with the Bluetti? I was looking for one for my AC70p recently and was considering one from 4WD Supacentre

        • +1

Works well, comes with the XT60 connector as well, so plug and play,

Checking on the AC70P it also uses XT60 but allows upto 500w input!

Here's my YouTube clip on the solar mat in use 😎

The battery in these things is so small I don’t understand the use case. They’re too small to run a fridge or induction cooktop for much more than a day, and if you need to charge your phone or tablet you can easily use your car. Really need something 1200whr++ to make these worthwhile.

    • What? I've used the Bluetti AC2A to run my 500l Panasonic fridge for just under 2hrs as a test,

The AC2A is only 200Wh this deal has 864Wh so almost 4 times the runtime ..

      • -5

Exactly my point. 8hrs of run time is pretty useless.

        • +1

You've obviously missed the point of these units, you wouldn't buy one just to power the fridge..

Some people would take it camping and pair with a camping fridge + solar panels.

          • +1

@Gomo: I understand it’s primarily for camping but the battery is too small to run a camping fridge for much more than a day. You’d need to charge it with solar every day or your fridge will get warm. If you have a cloudy or rainy day then you couldn’t charge it and it’ll go flat. So what’s the use case for this?? Taking a camping fridge to a bbq or for a one night camping trip??

            • +1

@fantacular: Here is a camping fridge that uses 60w load when the compressor is active,

              https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/kings-escape-30-fridge-free…

With a 60W camping fridge and an 800Wh battery, you can expect approximately 13.3 hours of runtime.
              Here's the calculation:
              Battery Capacity: 800 Wh
              Fridge Power Consumption: 60 W
              Runtime Calculation: 800 Wh / 60 W = 13.3 hours

Add solar and have pass through charging.. endless amounts,

I think you assume fridges use 200w+

              • +5

@Gomo: Fridge duty cycles aren't 100%, my 75L Brass Monkey draws 45 watts when running but assuming it's already cold it will draw about 350 watt hours a day.

                • @bargainboiz: Awesome, I'm thinking of getting a camping fridge, the kings ones seem okay, I take it brass monkey is another brand

                  • -6

@Gomo: Ohhh classic, you don’t even own a camping fridge but you are saying this product is great for running a camping fridge and downvoting anyone who disagrees with your made up knowledge, hahahahaha

                    • +1

@fantacular: I've used my unit to power my home fridge.

                    • +2

@fantacular: Everybody is an expert on the Internet. When I was doing the lap, I had 200ah of lithium, literally 3x the capacity here, and 2 x 160w panels powering my 60l brass monkey fridge. Even with that setup, there were times the batteries went flat.

Initially, I had only one 100ah battery but it would die every second or third night.

                    • +1

@fantacular: I use a jackery500, it runs my kings car fridge all day 8am-10pm sitting in hot sun etc and still has 29% left when I get home. I didn't want to do spare battery etc for car.

              • +2

@Gomo: I guarantee if you are using it for camping, one cloudy day and the battery is dead. Even if it's sunny, you will need to get enough solar every day during on your trip to recharge from the night before on top of whatever the fridge is drawing during the day.

In my experience, these compressors run pretty much continuously in hot climates, but if I use those numbers, it won't make it through the first night. Instead I'll assume 45w average consumption. If you connect it to Bluetti's 200w panel, you'll get around 160w in full sun.

With that set-up, you want about 7 hours of peak sun with not a cloud in the sky and nothing casting a shadow on your panels, every day. There is no room for error.

                • @jamesorion: You can also charge via the car

                • @jamesorion: Just add more solar. On a cloudy day good panels don't shut down they still produce at least 15%. So double or triple your panel capacity to significantly extend your charging power and hence run time.

                  • @skysurfer: Or, you could get a cheap 200ah lithium battery at less cost than this and have 3x the capacity to act as a buffer. Plus, your whole setup will be easily and more cheaply upgradable.

            • @fantacular: Any half descent camping fridge with DC charging would be drawing about 35AMPS a day so this would be able to run for at least 2 days, probably more though if its well insulated and you aren't constantly opening it. If you get one of those camping solar panels you should be fine as long as there's enough sun. This really depends on a lot of factors though like ambient temp and how often you open/close it and what's in it.

If your fridge is already at temp, maybe charging off car on the way to the campsite, then its not going to use much power at all to maintain and this would probably last even longer then 2 days.

              • +1

@Hank Scorpion: What part of the country are you in? Maybe during winter in Tassie I was using around that much a day, but in the NT, QLD, and northern WA, no chance.

                • +1

@jamesorion: We camp up the Mid north coast in NSW, I don't open and close it much, its well insulated and I keep it in the shade and we usually camp nearer to the beach so its usually not scorching hot anyway. YMMV vary and there's a lot of factors to consider but that's just my experience, but certainly in hotter parts of the country and depending on the fridge its going to use more juice, if its hot usually there's sun so a solar panel would keep it going.

    • +1

its good for running things bigger than a tablet but smaller than a fridge. id love one of these for running a laptop, hotspot and monitor if i could find a decent campsite near me with good phone reception so i could remote work. obviously not going to compare to beefier in built systems but the portability is good

  • +3

Would this work well as a NAS UPS that I can occasionally take on a camping trip?

    • Yes with 20ms the storage would be mega for a camping trip !

      • -4

It’s too small to run a camping fridge for more than a day so not very useful for a camping trip.

        • +1

          Stop spreading false information.

A typical camp fridge using 60w load, add a solar panel to prolong the runtime.

With a 60W camping fridge and an 800Wh battery, you can expect approximately 13.3 hours of runtime.
          Here's the calculation:
          Battery Capacity: 800 Wh
          Fridge Power Consumption: 60 W
          Runtime Calculation: 800 Wh / 60 W = 13.3 hours

          • @Gomo: Spreading misinformation?? I said it wouldn’t run a fridge for more than a day and you just said it was nearly half that at 13.3hrs……. Thankyou for reinforcing that what I said was correct :) and then someone else jumped in and confirmed I was about right with my estimate….. I think you’re a bit confused mate

            • @fantacular: You're not taking into account extending it with solar input which is the big benefit of this type of unit.

        • +3

          bollocks
my ecoflow river2 will do a camping fridge for 20hrs and that has way less capacity than this bluetti battery

@gomo they dont use 60w non stop.

          • -2

@FoxJump: Yep thanks for that, the figures I posted was just from Google AI assuming a constant 60w load,

Thanks for sharing your realword usage 🙌

          • -3

@FoxJump: 20hrs??? That’s good for a bbq but useless for a camping trip.

            • +2

@fantacular: Comprehension issue? He said River2 and the thing had around 260Wh and it runs 20hr. This deal has about 3 times more Wh, you do the math.

            • +1

@fantacular: Yeah but you hook it up to a solar panel throughout the day so it gets topped up.

              • @eediot: or
at least in my river 2 case, clamp to my car battery and idle the car 1hr

or go sightseeing for a drive
but yes a 120w panel sorts me out otherwise

      • i wonder if this model has ac-on when power is restored and it has been drained

    • -1

I would still pair this with a proper UPS in between.

      Bluetti > UPS > NAS

The UPS should have a faster switch over time and can be connected up to shutdown the NAS properly once the Bluetti has depleted itself.

  • +2

Great find Op, all in for $616 by using gif cards from health insurance portal

    • Nicely done plus you'll get some credits to spend in store !

  • Do the 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 Lithium Batteries for around $180 have more capacity then these? working out if I build one of them or buy this.

    • +1

The output power would be different, with the Bluetti unit you have DC power and AC power all setup in a ready to go system.

      • +1

Thanks, I bought one of these, can work on a custom battery box later!

        • +1

Enjoy! This unit in my eyes is definitely a big boy 😅

    • Where did you see 100Ah for that price please?

  • All local stock In Qld seems to have gone now!

Delivery still available according to the website, I'll assume it's via their distribution network with Bluetti directly.

  • Is this able to hook in with Home Assistant to control charging/discharging?

    • +1

there's a bt ha integration but dunno how progressed it is.

  • +1

I've just tried the code again and it still seems to be working even though technically the deal should have expired already.

  • How does it compare with PylonTECH UF5000?

    • That looks more like home storage setup, this deal is for more practical for portability.

  • +1

So after I posted this deal last night I've been wondering if I should purchase it myself given I already have the Bluetti AC2A 🔋

Can confirm, as of 4:30AM I submitted an order 😅

Delivery from the 4th of April, let's see how this goes! Honestly for this brand & capacity the deal is definitely a decent one, also surprised the coupon still works 😂 "SUPERFAMILY"

I'm sure as time goes on I'll find my purpose for having the AC70P 🔋along with my AC2A 🔋

    • Was checking and about to pull and they just removed the coupon :(

  • +1

The specs show that it will take 500w of solar, do we know if that is regulated or unregulated, I’m looking to pair this unit with my 300w itech unregulated panels

    • -1

It has built in MPPT so I'd assume yes, I myself only have 200w panels so plan to use them to charge the unit while on the go.

      INPUT

      • AC Input: 950W Max.
      • Solar Input: 500W Max,12V-58VDC, 10A

      Deal has expired now FYI
