OMEN 32q by HP 31.5 Inch QHD IPS 165Hz Gaming Monitor $319.20 Delivered @ HP eBay

550
HP2025

Appeared to be a bargain last year @$351.20 so hoping this still represents value for some at the lower price. Every VA panel on ozbargain is met with resistance from the IPS crew so this might balance it out a bit!

I got a Dell G3223D a few years ago and have been looking for a second companion screen.
This one seems like a good fit with near identical specs except for the garbage ports (why no usb c upstream?) and maybe lower quality colours that I won't notice.

    https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/d67b2631…

    • I believe the colors are more accurate on 32Q but has a smaller coverage.

    • That comparison page seems to have some errors. Like they are both QHD 32" monitors, but one is listed as 165pp and the other is 93ppi?

Decent deal, but I feel that 32" should be 4k, 27" 1440p. At 32" the PPI is similar to 24" 1080p, which I don't find particularly great personally. But for a purely gaming focused rig/monitor this is probably great. For productivity I'd consider a 4k at this size IMO

    • I tend to agree, but also I’d much prefer 32” 1440p over 27” 1440p if that’s the option. All about the price point and this is solid for the price point.

Unfortunately 4K is still really rough on a lot of graphics cards.

    • I agree, but it seems monitor manufacturers do not. I've been searching for a reasonably priced 32" 4K for a while, but the money seems to be in ultrawides.

Lots of people who have 4k Monitors and switching back to 1440p :) Way less demand on the GPU's for native resolution

Affordable GPU is the bottleneck for now. Monitor pricing is falling much quicker than GPUs.

      • Yep! I have a 3440x1440 ultrawide for work but a 27 1440 for gaming as it's just a sweet spot for good resolution, and reasonable for my 3060 Ti and 5600x to run any current games! Definitely not maxed out but it's fine as I can barely tell the difference between high and ultra etc anyway.. I usually just smash textures up and filtering and medium shadows and every other effect.

Have 3 of these, they're pretty good for the price imo! Little bit cheaper than what I got mine for, but they seem to go on sale for ~$340 every couple months.

This monitor is fantastic for the price. I have 3x for my sim rig, couldn't be happier, and I paid the 350 back a few months ago.

    • Did you need to buy any adapters to fit vesa mount?
Or were they okay with using spacer washers?

      • I printed some thick washers with my 3d printer , then just used the vesa mounts I had from trak racer.

    • Does this monitor have multiple panels (LG panel or BOE panel) like the 27q?
      Thanks

  • What's wrong with VA panels?

    • People like to complain about the smearing, but as long as you're buying a newer panel, you should be fine. Don't notice any on my 2024 Gigabyte monitor, and the contrast ratio is heaps better than my IPS

This in no way is a Trash Monitor! … :) The only monitors that are better cost like $750+

    • What would you suggest instead of this?

      • Get this.. price is too good
