    $1220 at Appliance Central

    • +18

The real deal is price match at JB, and use the 7% ultimate cards at amazon for $1134ish 👍

      • +2

JB would also deduct the delivery price when matching Appliance Central since AC offers free delivery.

        • they don't

          • +3

@sillycat1: They do, but you’ll have to ask. They cannot remove the delivery price since it’s 3rd party courier but they will deduct the amount of delivery fee from the item price.

  • Wow. 2021 prices.

  • What GPU you use to go with this?

    • +7

      The best one you have

    • 4090 / 5090, maybe 5080

      • +2

Get the 5090 to get the most out of 4k experience

    • +2

      I have a 4080 Super, but I also have a PS5.

    • I use a 3080 with mine, it works well.

  • +3

    This or falcon?

    • +5

Buy this and just play the falcon reviews.

    • +2

Oh god have you seen what's inside the ffalcons?

I have not witnessed (yet) cost cutting of that level in other brands - these coyos put everything on one board - the logic board AND the psu (t-con obv separate).

      What can possibly go wrong.

      • Its a bargain though

    • +1

You could almost get a ford falcon for this mpney

  • +1

I want this for my lounge room pc!

      • +1

        Buy it for me?

        • Sure, but I don't take Amex and you need to pay the currency conversion fees.

    • I am using a 48" and honestly, I don't think i'll ever go back to a conventional monitor.

My usage is productivity, media consumption and gaming.

      It excels at everything.

Only draw back is the glossy screen, but that is a pro for media/gaming.

I often set a custom res in NVIDIA Control Panel to 3840x1440 for gaming, as I only have a 2070, and it is largely fine for that.

Highly recommend for a Gaming PC / Productivity.

      • +1

I assume you mean 2560 x 1440p which is my normal 27" desktop monitor resolution. Now that you've given me your blessing, jv will promptly be buying this for me :-)

I do kind of wish my 40" old Panasonic Viera (that is only 1080p from the times of old) would kark it so I could totally justify this purchase. But on the other hand, variable refresh rate TVs seem to be becoming a bit more mainstream, and will presumably only get cheaper as time goes on. Thanks for describing your use case 👍

        • +1

          Nah, I mean 3840x1440.

I do this so my TV/Monitor essentially becomes an Ultrawide.

          • @giventofly: Oh it's a Ultrawide? I thought it was a TV like in this post. What model is it?

            • @JownehFixIT: It's a TV.

              LG 48" OLED TV C1

I set a custom res via NVIDIA Control Panel within Windows 11 to change the resolution to 3840x1440 (which turns it into an ultrawide)

              • @giventofly: My point is, if you set an ultrawide resolution on a 16:9 panel, you'll either get black borders to the top and the bottom of the image, or a stretched image: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_resolution

                • +2

@JownehFixIT: Yeah that's the whole point - the big black borders mean your graphics card only has to do half as much work. You can now play Ultra settings at 60fps.

But the screen is large enough that you still have a massive display area despite the borders.

                • +1

                  @JownehFixIT: Yes, I realise that.

                  • @giventofly: Cool 👍 I got there in the end 😂 it's actually news to me you can do that with TV's these days. Last time I was setting custom resolutions on a television I had an ancient 1080p panel that didn't want to work at the right refresh rate, but I had to modify edid files or something. Didn't know you could essentially scale a different resolution inside a TV. Clever way to reduce gpu load.

                    • +1

@JownehFixIT: It's not so much the TV doing the work - it's NVIDIA Control Panel within Windows.

Windows and NVIDIA just see the TV as another display and enable custom resolutions.

                      • +1

@giventofly: Yeah sweet. It used to be a lot harder I think. I've played around with custom resolutions (mostly for refresh rate testing) in NVIDIA control panel. It's handy.

  • +1

Must be awesome for gaming, I have a 65" B2 for movies etc and its great.

  • +1

How does it go as a monitor?

      • That to.

    • +10

Paired with the LG TV Companion app sourced online, it has no noticeable difference from a high end OLED monitor, with the benefits of it also doing terrestrial and smart TV stuff.

Been using it for 8 months. The initial size impact lasted a single day. Just looks like a normal screen size to me now. Set your DPI scaling in Windows and you're golden.

Don't ever want to look at a non-OLED screen again.

Edit: Text clarity isn't quite what you would expect 4K at 42 inches to look like due to WRGB layout, but it's barely worth noting. Certainly not as bad as first gen Quantum OLEDs were. HDR exacerbates the issue but still doesn't ever look 'bad'. Just something worth noting. It's not a 'this model' problem anyway, OLED just has quirks you need to be okay with.

      • +3

        re : text quality

You can make it better with Cleartype Tuner - https://www.elevenforum.com/t/use-cleartype-text-tuner-to-im…

This tool does an awesome job of fixing screens with weird pixel layouts.

        • +2

Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time. A long time

        • +2

Yeah, I've done that. I've always run that on all my monitors. Fixes up Windows fonts, but doesn't do anything for text in games (which is where you'll notice it if you use HDR), subtitles in movies (again, worse in HDR), or apps that don't adhere to Windows' standards.

Not complaining, it's such a minor thing. Just letting people know what to expect.

      • Sweet. Yeah text was my biggest concern but if it’s only a little bad I can live with that. Cheers.

      • What about ABL? Is auto dimming noticeable?

        • +2

ABL isn't noticeable but TPC and GSC is definitely noticeable, but some people will like it for monitor purposes due to the potential of burn in. But I've turned them off in the service menu, which you can do with https://github.com/Maassoft/ColorControl without having the service remote. I have done it, and I highly recommend it, but you're risking burn in, and you risk warranty claims being denied (but this doesn't actually appear to be happening, but it does log it so the tech can see you've done it, so beware).

Worth noting I turned off the TPC and GSC on my 65 C1 in my living room on day one and still have no burn in in 3 years later.

      • Got a C2 for 997 or somethhing like that. Is awesome as a monitor especially if you do photography with the OLED.Would recomend.

    • +2

Excellent, I am using the 42" C3 at the moment, came from a Alienware 34" ultrawide LCD and it's night and day difference.

Currently only thing I have is auto hide for taskbar enabled and haven't seen any burn in. Sitting at ~3500 hrs on time now.

  • +1

Wish i pulled the trigger on this last year

  • +11

Bro you could have saved $12, should have waited /s

    • +1

I saved over $170 by waiting!

  • Do you think the price will be reduced even more during Easter holiday?

    • +1

If there is stock left. I believe they're being cleared out for C5 stock.

If you want this then jump on it.

I would if I had the budget.

  • +1

Been using a 55 inch TCL c835 and its too big for my bedroom. Might get this one and put the TCL in the lounge room

  • +1

Still hoping this will somehow go sub 1k… not liking my chances

    • +3

      Name checks out

  • Does this run on android or webos?

    • WebOS

      • +1

        Thanks

  • C5 model is selected when I open the link.

    • Same but when added to card says c4:(

  • If you bought last week from JB you can get $12 refunded

  • +2

Anyone paired this with their Mac?

  • +1

Picked this up on one of the last deals, great investment.

Travel alot for work, so drag it along with me since I can't be at home with the 77 G1.

  • it seems still available why its showing expired ?

  • +1

Best TV ive ever seen. For gaming its unmacthed.

  • Available at Harvey Norman for the same price:

    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/lg-42-inch-c4-4k-uhd-oled-ev…

  • Sub 1k or nuttin'!

    • +2

      Get nuttin'

      • (Joking): Ew, I will not!

But yeah, another price drop would convince me. I only WFH 1 day a week and play games once a week at the most :(

  • These also good just for watching TV/movies too?

    • +3

Is a high end television good for watching tv and movies?

      Idk man.

      • Fair call, prob just in terms of remote, OS etc.. but point taken haha

        • +1

Never rely on the OS - use an NVIDIA shield or Apple TV, or something similar.

          • @giventofly: Not sure why people say this really. I’m using a C8 for Plex and YouTube for going on 6 years and it’s completely fine.

Kayo wasn’t great, from memory, but that may be fixed. I use AppleTV for that but nothing else.

  • Price matched Appliance Central then used welcome bonus and gift cards. Total $1137

    • could I get a receipt?

  • Managed to price match with appliances centrelal for $1193 will see if can stack with gift cards to bring it lower..

  • this or a pc monitor..so still weighing up whats better
    gaming an d productivity requirements

anyone using it a lot for productivity as well? how is the abl/auto dimming ? text clarity?
