Retail price and it's not selling out. This is not gonna be a PS5 COVID situation.
it's not selling out.
I wouldn't be so confident in Nintendo
Yep, scalpers are most certainly going to have a crack at Switch 2.
they are already selling out
There will be plenty of stock that was previously earmarked for sale in the US to be shared around the rest of the world.
RRP might be $119.95 (based on EB Games Pricing).
Tell 'em they're dreamin'.
Don't worry. In about 4 years it'll be on sale for $109. :p
8 years
And we'll like it
This is the worst part. Console is one time cost.
Every game at $120 RRP is the highest buzz kill imaginable. This is almost double what we typically get Switch games for.
I’ll see what BigW/Amazon do. Someone is bound to crack $89, they do with PS5.
Normally companies sell the consoles at a loss then make money on the game, typical Nintendo wants to do you both ways.
Enjoy remastered classics like mario zelda and super smash at the new rrp! Seriously though, low end arm CPU with simply a modified OS from the OG switch - which in itself was just a modified OS from the 3ds.
Can't wait for Android emulators on this one. I wonder if the first gen units would be unicorns like the first switch - that it can be chipped and essentially jailbroken, those would easily sell for double later on its life.
Probably one of the few reasons to buy at launch and hold it until a crack comes along. My V1 Switch has easily saved me more than it's purchase price, and the V2 barely gets a run because I don't like carrying around $1,000 worth of game cartridges on the off chance I want to play something. It sits around waiting to be the second screen in a local wireless game, or donating it's joycons for Mario Party
@AngryAlfred: I see the long play but probably won't bother with this. Nintendo's been pretty aggressive in taking down emulators recently so I'm wondering if there's gonna be a decent jailbreak for this one.
My switch barely got 100hrs of use, the games got boring halfway through tbh.
I switched over to yuzu/ryujinx for a while to experience the games at 4k 60fps, but the games were still boring lol
I've got one of the early switches and might end up selling if I dont use the game sharing feature on the 2 much. Good to know I can get a bit more for it.
Also available from EB Games. They only take a $50 deposit and not the full amount upfront.
More information/discussion/preorder links for the Switch 2 - here.
Also bloodborne 2 :)
Reading up online apparently its a PvPvE :'(
Nintendo FromSoft exclusive before PC Bloodborne is peak hatred.
Have always used EB for consoles only cause I want to trade my old one, and it’s super easy, I have no sentimentality for consoles and just want rid of it old for new
I'll wait for an emulator. $769 for Mario Kart is absurd.
ah yes, OzRRP
Pre ordering at MSRP isn’t a deal.
^
Pre ordering at MSRP isn’t a deal.
Gone to wait for cashback.
I just found out that the Ultimate Home Gift Card can't be used for online orders , it has to be used in-store.
Go in store and preorder/pay for order in person?
ordered at EBgames, only $50 deposit.
Also 7 percent off eb gift card all the time if you buy it via Macquarie bank gift card portal, takes under 10 minutes to sign up Macquarie transaction account and login.
buy switch 2 V1 and hope for a hack/modchip.
Same here 😂
Kinda pissed I have to re buy Zelda for the switch 2 version and no free upgrade
There is free upgrade if you have NSOL+
Ahh sorry didn’t see this. That’s good.
But if you cancel that after upgrade do you loose the upgrade?
Assume so - but there is an upgrade path via "packs", similar to how the PS4 > PS5 upgrades worked. With the NSOL+ sub, the pack is just free…similar to how they did the Mario Kart and Animal Crossing DLC.
Is that really the official template for the case art? Hope it's just a mock-up…
Pre ordering at MSRP isn’t a deal.
Damn that's dearer than I thought… Will wait for an attempt at discount and try to price match
I will wait for eBay dropship
The Ultimate Him gift card at Amazon (which can be used at both JB and EB) is currently 7% off. $500 limit, so buy one for 500 and one for 269.
Total is $715.17.
Thanks. For anyone else interested in doing this email delivery took 1 hour. You also have to exchange the $500 one for a $500 JB HiFi Gift Card on the Ultimate Gift Cards site, as these are not actually gift cards but prepaid Visa cards so you're limited to one per online transaction.
Thanks! This was exactly the info I was looking for.
@HiredGoon: Looks like it's gone. Dont feel bad - I missed out too and I'm the one that posted this to begin with 😂 I shouldn't have hesitated, but $700 is a lot of dough
Nintendo being greedy….who would have thought
“bEiNg AvAiLAbLe mAkEz iT a bArGaiN!!1!”
Really… this shit again? This in nothing more than a public service announcement, not a “deal”.
Back to the forums.
Wow. Expensive. No deal.
If this expensive thing sells out I'll eat my hat.
Until more games come out it will be terrible value. And the post is not a bargain.
This isnt a deal, why post it?
Just advetising isn't it.
RRP is not a deal
PS5 OZRRP days are back
Last time I pre ordered with new Zelda.
I will wait till the new Zelda
LCD no thanks
ohh they havnt even made it OLED … most likely going to release a second version and hope ppl upgrade
If OLED then it would be $899. haha
The thing that would turn me off buying one of these is the price of the games. Console plus 10 games, you're looking at nearly $2000.
yaa steam deck seems the better choice
very disappointed to see such low spec after so many years waiting…
Nintendo is one of the few (or only?) console manufacturers who do not subsidizes the cost of the hardware to the point of losing money on it. Higher specs means price would be even more ludicrous. Although, while not exactly a fair comparison, it does make me wonder how Valve does it with the Steam Deck for the price
They probably earn it back from steam market gambling and getting a fee from every game sold on steam
PC gaming is also a much more profitable than console gaming.
Valves whole business is around the Steam store its somewhere like 80% of the companies income.
The more faces Valve they can put Infront of the Steam store the more profit they can make.
The scalping golden age is gone. You won't have trouble picking this up anytime.
Why are we still posing RRP preorders?!
Because the year is 2020, there is a pandemic and chip shortage. These babies will scalp like hotcakes… Oh wait
$700 for an LCD screen 😂
NOBODY NEEDS THESE RRP PRESALE POSTS
in no way is this a deal. do better.
I love Ninty games but this thing is almost the same price as an OLED steam deck which has access to emulation… And all of steam.
More of a forum post, RRP deals died after covid..
Sorry - this is not a deal.
Nintendo have already publicly said they're going to beat the scalpers by having shit-tonnes available at launch, shame on you JB hi-fi for trying to deal the FOMO card.
Come on, why would you post an RRP PRE ORDER?
I would understand if it was released and this was more of a stock update but come on. Everyone interested in it knows the RRP and that JB would sell it. Waste of a post.
I mean, sure, its ozmsrp, but at the same time, if you want a unit and don't preorder it, then you may have to wait until a bit later in the year.
If JB accept your preorder, I'm not convinced you're definitely getting a console on the day, is anyone?
The bundle makes mario kart seem like a fair price, $70, I wouldn't be paying $115-120 for the game even if it does look good, I think that's a bit steep.
Worth saving 5% with discounted gift vouchers?
Has anyone tried to get a discount from web chat?
Wow, it's more than what I paid for the 256gb steam deck. However, seeing the recent gpu prices, this doesn't seem that much anymore.
