Compare The Market: $150 Cashback on Comprehensive Car Insurance @ TopCashback AU

150
  • A completed quote is not an Eligible Purchase and therefore ineligible for cashback. You will only be eligible for cashback on a completed purchase of a policy.
  • Cashback will be confirmed after your insurance product/service has been active for at least 60 days, or 90 days for all energy plan purchases. Payment may take 50 - 90 days after validation.
  • If you receive a call from Compare the Market’s call centre, they will open the original quote used via TopCashback's URL. Tracking will continue as normal provided you don't start a new quote for any reason. Note you will not qualify for both cashback and CTM gift cards (if offered). If you attempt to claim both, your cashback may be cancelled at the discretion of CTM or TCB. You are however entitled to utilise TCB's cashback and any offers your insurer of choice is offering via CTM.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.
  • Cashback is ineligible on use of gift cards for payment and/or purchase of gift cards.
  • Cashback is ineligible on purchases made via the retailer's mobile app.

The idea of having a successful clickthrough to Compare the Market and then a successful clickthrough to an insurance company and then a completed insurance application finishing with a completed payment for a policy all within a timeframe where tracking works all the way back to TopCashback gives me stress. There are so many reasons why you'll never get the payment or have to chase it up.

I second that, but having @tightarse on the other end gives me a peace of mind

TA is the only reason I would even entertain the though

car insurance usually has like 2 week period where you can cancel and get a refund. So at least you can make sure the tracking works at least.

My $150 for Budget Direct through Topcashback paid out after about 2 months

    • Exactly! Don't wanna deal with TopCashback support after who would never understand their own T&Cs and tracking.

    • I did it a few months ago for two policies - just got my payout last week.

    • Last year they did this, it did not track for me. But I contacted them, and within a day the balance was added to my account.

Good that you added this very important point as we discussed in the past as well, please don't entertain even if they claim that you'll be eligible for both, as you'll only get either of them.

  • What if you get a gift card offer from Budget Direct, would that void cashback?

    • That should be alright I reckon, as it's coming from the insurer rather than CTM, happy to be corrected though!

This is almost 1/4 of the cost of a comprehensive insurance for my car - man, what a profit margin these companies have!

    • You are getting comprehensive insurance for $600? How? What car?

  • Lets face facts… MeerKats know F#ck all about car insurance

  • Seems comprehensive is down to $110 now.

I bought a policy just a day before this was posted, wondering if it's worth cancelling and re-purchasing, policy doesn't start until the 15th.

    • cashrewards currently offering $130 car insurance through CTM

Not sure why, but if I click through CTM and get an Everyday Insurance quote it comes out at $1400. If I go straight to Everyday Insurance without the referral the same car, same quote comes out at $985.

  • Would using the code CAR24K at everyday insurance invalidate the CTM cashback?

  • Offer has expired.

    • Seems to be back on but $130 now. Just be sure to get a quote first without clicking through CTM as they may be inflating the price to give you the cashback, as per comment above from Spun.
