Download a Lot of Audible. iPhone 12 Max Pro Full

I have a 256 iPhone Max Pro 12.

I download a lot of audiobooks and now my phone's memory is full.

I have tried troubleshooting and freeing up storage space, but this is not a long term solution.

I do have an iPad that I bought at same time as iPhone (so whatever model that is) - can I transfer my audiobooks to that to free up room on my phone?

Is there some sort of device such as external hard drive for iPhone that I could buy and transfer excess audiobooks to?

Is this an iCloud's thing?

Do I just need to bite the bullet and update phone to 1 tb memory - only thing, heard better phone being released next year with new stuff - so would like to wait

Cheers!

Delete them when you're done? You can store anything you want in iCloud.

How do I get it to go there? I don't want to delete. Thanks

They will always be available to re-download from Audible, this is the advantage of digital purchases! Open icloud on your phone, get set up, then google "upload to icloud"

It doesn't really have anything to do with iCloud.
OP will just have to download them from the Amazon servers (Audible app) then delete them when done, and re-download from Amazon servers when they want to listen to them again.

Why? Just delete the ones that you have listened to or the ones you are not about to listen to any time soon. Only put on your device the ones you plan on getting through in the next week or two and delete them as you go… what am I missing here?

        Jesus loves you, but…

    • Yeah just delete them and redownload them when needed. Chances are even your mobile data plan more than covers it even if you don't have wifi.

Lol what. How many books have you listened to.. In any case no need to store them on your device once listened. Delete them. They're still in your Audible library and you can redownload them if you want to listen to them again.

Android users are more likely to have media stored. iPhone users stream.

This is why they manage to sell such basic phones for over $1000 I guess..

Just delete them and redownload, as the amount of listening time that would fill up 256gb is probably more than half a lifetime..

Audiobooks are fairly big if good quality. Your argument absolutely works for ebooks, not so much audiobooks. Eg IT - Stephen King is 1.3gb for my audiobook from Audible.
However you definitely can store way more audiobooks than you could need at once with 256gb.

  • You own them so you can download them anytime you need. Deleting them locally from your phone doesn't mean it's not yours anymore. It takes 2 mins to re download when you want to relisten

Same as asking "bought too many legos and now i have no space to put them in my house"

Delete some and redownload them later
