14 Disc Pack Description

Available for the first time on Blu-ray! On April 1, 2003, the first episode of RED VS. BLUE took the Internet by storm, heralding the dawn of a new era of online viral video. Based on the explosively popular video game franchise Halo® and created with a new form of animation called 'machinima,' RED VS. BLUE was unlike anything online audiences had ever seen before… and still is.

After a decade of non-stop hilarity, RED VS. BLUE has become the most loved, watched and quoted web series ever. From tank romances to alien offspring, buddy clubs, knock knock jokes, laser faces and more, this is the sci-fi comedy that paved the way for an entire generation of online video, while keeping audiences around the world laughing the whole time.

This 14-disc boxed set collects the full first ten seasons of RED VS. BLUE episodes with newly remastered surround sound audio, plus additional videos and miniseries, hours of special features, interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and much more. RVBX: TEN YEARS OF RED VS. BLUE is the definitive collection of the hilarious first decade of the Blood Gulch crew, and a landmark release in the history of Internet video.

  • I would buy this if it was on DVD, not Blu-Ray….interesting option considering XBOX's can't play Blu-ray

Its because Bluray was promoted by Sony when the PS3 launched whereas Xbox 360 had that discontinued Toshiba HD-DVD. And it is on DVD on Amazon but for US$126, for that price you may as well buy locally or search elsewhere. Amazon.com's matching another website atm, hence the cheaper price for bluray

And its on bluray because people demand HD content nowadays ;)

I think Spectator was trying to point out how ironic it is that its "Halo" and yet you cant even watch it on an Xbox.

  • Region: Region A/1 according to Amazon. Australia is region B/2 so won't work on local BR players unless you happen to have one that is region free

    • Never trust Amazon for anything that's region related :P They never bother checking, they just assume its locked to Region A

This bluray boxset is region free (ABC!)

    • +1

Roosterteeth them self confirmed its region free, even the one you buy from Jbhifi has BestBuy adverts inside the dvds apparently.

Ill try find the source (on my tablet atm)

  • wow last time i saw Red vs Blue it was on season 3! got a lot of catchin up to you

I bought this a couple of days ago though it was $87 delivered for me, not sure if the currency exchange rate is the same as it was

Good price for 10 seasons on bluray + bonus content. For anyone curious the first 5 seasons were remastered with the PC version so its in proper widescreen (but with original audio), not that weird theatrical ratio in a 4:3 box! I've currently got seasons 1-7 on DVD and for this price its definitely worth upgrading especially to have everything in 1 stylish boxset

  • Where does it say its region free? I can't see any description to that effect.

  • This is quite a good box set - picked it up in a lightning deal from Amazon in November 2012 for US$61.99 (before postage).

  • I've never heard of this Red v Blue.

    • Not a Halo fan?

      • -1

For what its worth, I have only played 5 minutes of halo in my life. You don't have to be a halo fan to appreciate this.

BTW, has it finished now? I don't want to buy a pottery box set and find out I am one season short of a perfect collection.

        • Its still going yet this supposedly has 3 finished storylines (the first 5 seasons counts as 'Blood Gulch Chronicles') & anything after it will be a slightly different series but with a lot more of the animation will be made from scratch. I don't think they'll be using the tag 'Season 11'

          I'd dub it as complete - I mean its 10 seasons! :P

      • I haven't played Halo either but it was a fun show :)

You can see from the start how they slowly came together, developing the running gags and characters along the way, plot becoming more important and then they get their SFX guy and it becomes really visually impressive :)

      • I've never played it, more of a pc gamer.

        • Did I see you on DayZ earlier today?

        • No, only playing Planetside 2 atm.

        • What faction?

        • NC on Briggs

An alternative if you have plenty of free download on your internet connection and some time.

    www.roosterteeth.com
Subscribe for a year $10 USD

    I subscribed ages ago. I think I:
    - created an account
    - visited a Red Vs Blue episode
    - clicked on download
    - was told subscribers only, and a subscribe now link was available to click on

Visit the episodes and download them all.

Other Cons - DVDs have some extras not available for download. DVDs also have start up bonuses and fun within their menus.

Other Pros - you can download and/or watch more than just Red Vs Blue. A lot of the Roosterteeth shorts are fun.

edit I forgot that the DVDs for Blood Gulch contain more alternative endings than you can download; and I think there is an extended Sarge techno when Wash first vists Red base :)

    • Download or stream?

      • When you select an episode, there will be a frame on screen to let you watch the video.

However, below that, there is a tab bar and the 2nd option is to download. If I remember, episodes allow for downloading. Some shorts and previews do not have that option.

It used to have both a steam version and multiple download options. (Even a PSP version while that was popular)
Edit: it still is. Stream and HD Quicktime download(.mp4?)

First few seasons were AMAZING. I stopped watching after the 4th season I think… tapered off quite a bit. Might give it another go though!

    • i stop watching after Blood Gulch Chronicles finished. it stopped being funny and seemed more like work to work out what was happening.

  • added it to my cart and get a message saying that they wont ship to melbourne> Its a joke , i have a heap of books in my cart that they wont ship either.
