I did that too but the order still hasn't been updated to be redirected. Had store managers from both sides on phone saying they had clicked the right buttons, and the e-store customer support team also said they had done everything. No idea.
Given my order never got moved to the other store for whatever reason, I'm still in limbo.
… but for the Broadway folk, the manager said stock is coming today. Fingers crossed.

Ended up picking up from broadway. Stock came in today. Yay.
Now to wait for gift card and tax invoice.
EDIT: Because I upgraded to the MK bundle in store the same day as placing the preorder, they did it outside of the online store, and now it's not showing as me having collected the item and unable to generate tax invoice/gift cards…. grr…
By doing that, I’m sure the system will have forfeited the gift card… was it really worth it? 🤣
@Pratty: I made sure the manager wrote on the sales order that I'm still entitled to the 10% gift card on total balance of order, and included the dollar amount too. I then took a photo of the screen. The staff said they'd fix it up for me if the system didn't give me the gift card.
Let's see.
@jace88: Sharing an update that it all worked out in the end. Granted, it took a bit of chasing and back and forth with various teams including the Broadway staff, manager, and the estore team, but I was able to get the correct gift card for the full amount (second try), and also got the invoice in time for my travels to get the GST back.
Now to wait for something to spend my $80 GC on.
Lesson learnt: don't change order next time, and maybe don't order from HN Broadway if launch date timing is critical.

Just posting this in case it helps anyone, I was like many others here, pre-order for collection with no text or email notifications - and tracking my order it just stated "processing".
I went back on the HN site and put the Switch 2 in the shopping cart and headed to the cart, selected the Pickup option to view the stores. Some stores list "Available to order" but others had a green "Available now". For me the next nearest store was one that had them in stock.
Going on to their online chat, I asked if it was possible for me to pick it up from that store instead - they informed me that it was possible to re-direct to a different store but can take up to 24 hours - I figured because the other store had them it seemed a better chance so thats what I did. To my surprise it was only around an hour before I got an email telling me it was ready for collection. I managed to collect it on my way home from work, and the gift card followed soon after.
Good luck, it might be worth a go if the stock doesn't get to your local store tomorrow
