Be aware that these particular Nespresso machines can not use ‘third party’ coffee capsules - you can only buy them through Nespresso and they can be pricy.

You could go with something like these.

        Does it work well?

        • Unless you can hammer coffee powder into the capsule, the result taste like coffee favourite water.

    • Well this is a fail then.

    • Agree. Very pricey.

Don't do it. The coffee tastes good.
But trying to get the pods is difficult. You are locked in with only purchasing their pods as they are patented ( until 2030) with each pod bar coded. If you can afford the price of the pods( $0.92-$1.90 each) and have a store nearby ( or add postage) then it would be good.
If you are taking this machine and travelling it's not recommended. I tried to refill original pods and sealing with special foil tops but that was fiddly and had many failures.

  • Can’t believe these pods are not in supermarkets.

Thought this was a camera lens at first

  • I think the normal nespresso pod machines make better tasting coffee than this. I think this machine tries to do more of a brew style. The pod is spun and you get this weird thin bubbly crema on the top. The pods have a bar code on them so the machine dispenses the right amount of water from 40ml, 150ml, 230ml and 530ml. Its a waste using this for short shots and the taste isn't as good as the standard machine. Cold brew pod is 530ml. Tastes pretty average. By the time its at around 400ml the water coming out is only slightly tinted coffee. It also cannot just dispense hot water. You have to activate a cleaning cycle which takes about a minute to warm up to get hot water.

If you want large volume coffee, a brewer would give you much better tasting coffee. Bought the Instant infusion brew machine and its pretty good with the timer, large water dispersion area and heated plate.
