Been watching this piano for a while, it's usually about $900.

The camels told me it dropped to $543 yesterday but the price was back up before I could buy. But this morning we're back - I just bought one! Now I've got to find a chair and stand.

    I was just about to post this deal. I bought this at $543 yesterday but stock dropped below the threshold of 10 before I could make a post. Been waiting for a discount on this for a while too—this price is insane, never thought it’d drop this low!

    Nothing against OP. But I bought the fp10 off Amazon and it took a month, 3 lies, and fair trading contact to get my piano when it was supposed to be delivered in a week. Hope nobody has the same trouble. I avoid Amazon as much as I can now.

      I’m sorry for your experience but this doesn’t track at all. Amazon would refund me if my kid farted. I’m not suggesting you’re on the naughty list but needing to get fair trading involved is just wild. What did your credit card company say? Amazon don’t even charge before they ship. Please share all details.

        Amazon advertised a Roland FP 10 piano for sale to be dispatched in 6 to 11 days at time of sale on 16th Feb.

        I bought some discounted gift cards from amazon (which amazon made an ordeal see chat history) in order to purchase the piano

        I contacted them early last week enquiring about the piano if it was dispatched and was informed:

        Hi, when I bought the item it said it will ship in 6 to 11 days. It's been 11 days and it's hasn't shipped

        After no contact from amazon, I contacted them on the 8th of march and was informed:

        Upon checking, I can see that the order is unfulfillable. The seller is unable to make this order complete. Thus, it won't get delivered.
        Also, I can see you are still not charged yet as the item isn't shipped.

        The seller is Amazon Au not a third party. So they always knew they would not sell the item and are targeting consumers by advertising a false product in hopes that they may purchase discounted gift cards so they are locked into buying things from Amazon. Also Amazon puts a hold on your gift card balance so it as good as charged when they made me wait 3 weeks in vain.

        Amazon still continues to sell the Roland FP 10 piano, with a revised dispatch date of 1-4 weeks, even though their representative says the product is unfulfillable, preying on other consumers.

        Resolution: The piano to be delivered by 12/03/2024, if unable to fulfil my order, for their listing to be taken down as they have no intention of honouring the sale and for my gift balance to be converted to cash as I only bought the gift cards in order to buy the false advertised piano.

Up to whoever reads it to do what they want, but if you get burnt, i did my due diligence and can sleep at night, not sure why i even try, i find the majority of the ozbargain community toxic, but i guess its for the minority.     Super cheap! I got an FP-30x for about $800~ a couple of years ago to slowly teach myself and it's a really good entry level unit.

  • I really want to learn the piano, but I just don't the money for classes. I have a cheap Casio keyboard, but without a teacher, no-one is holding me accountable. Maybe because I need a teacher to help me get the basics right. Like posture and all that.

    Any tips to get started and to keep motivated?

      same with learning any difficult skill, you need discipline, never rely on motivation, it will never be enough for these long term difficult skills

    • I'm using an app called Simply Piano to learn. It kinda gameifies the experience.

      • I'll try that. I remember reading that it's free and then you pay a subscription or something. Might be worth it.

          There are a few different similar apps and most have free trials, give a few a go and see which fits your style.

      • Daughter uses this and seems to like it.
        Discount via turkey apple app store makes the price more palatable.

    Wow! I got this for close to 1.3k (including stand) during the covid era

  • Anyone in the know able to chime in on how this compares to the Kawai KDP120?

    Looks like the Kawai KDP120 which includes all the stand and stool in a package goes for about $1.35k, to which the Roland FP-30X and adding the stand and stood is not too dissimilar (if not for this deal, albeit now OoS).

    Not considering the price and those lucky enough to pick up the Roland FP-30X for ~$551, would the Kawai KDP120 be a better/comparable option?

    • you can get the kawai es120 with stand and pedals for $1090. If anyone has tried them please let me know how it compares with the kdp120, yamaha p225 or fp30x

      I tried both in store, having listened to both the Roland FP-30X and the Kawai ES120 - I decided on the Kawai, the sound output was better in my opinion to my ears, and the feel was nicer, there are a lot of youtube videos on the keyboards and comparisons which may help with your decision.

        Although, I wasn’t able to find much about the Kawai KDP120. I understand that this is a level greater than the ES120, and for not much more. The KDP120 is a full enclosed one with the pull cover, and also is wood grain. Can get in white, which my wife insists one.

          This is what I found on reddit for KDP120 vs ES120, overall it seems better and a higher grade than the ES model:

          I went with white too for the ES as it looks really nice, if there are any piano stores near you, I would encourage seeing it in person.

    Just bought the official Roland wooden piano stand and pedal board from Amazon for $129 + $129 = $258.00. Altogether not bad - looks like the stand is out of stock now though.
