    Screen size wouldn't really matter I'd think, weight would be the defining factor anything under 50kg will be fine.

      For the most part I would agree, however at a certain screen size, I suspect too much weight would be too far away from the bracket.

      Yes, weight is the only thing that matters, either the bracket can support 50 kg fully extended, or it can't. It doesn't matter whether you're mounting a 50 kg 50” plasma or a 50 kg 85” LCD.
      That said, mounting a 50 kg TV, especially if it's going to be extended off the wall is an extremely bad idea. That can generate a lot of torque around the mounting screws, and unless you're using some heavy duty bolts with deep threads, they can be ripped out of the wall. I personally wouldn’t be putting any more than 30kg on something like that.

        not only weight. I ran into the problem where the weight rating was good (50kg) but the bracket just didn't reach the Vesa mounting holes in my tv.
        And it can be that the braket for large TVs is so big it will show when mounting a small tv.

          @ripprind: Yes, VESA mounting pattern support matters too, but this one supports from 200x200 up to 400x400, which should cover most TVs up to 85”. Anything that has a 600mm pattern is way too heavy for this anyway.

            @opt: my 85" TCL has 400x600 Vesa and weighing 38kg.
            I bought a bracket that was up to 50kg, hoping I'd be ok but it was way too small for my tv
