Again not ATL, but seems is back to an excellent price if anyone hasn't snagged a pair. Ocean Blue is also available but for me doesn't appear on the product page linked above, so need to search separately (perhaps because I purchased Ocean Blue previously). Says Limited Time Deal so unsure when it expires. Enjoy.

  • This is great timing - I'm contemplating the Bose QC Ultra. Anyone know how these fair against Bose?

    • If you're in no rush you can hold off to see Sony's latest offerings.

      • Typically you would look at the more niche headphones if you don't want the mainstream sound signatures of Sony XM/ Bose.

    • +1

I love my B&W headset. Can't imagine going back to Bose

      • Not Bose nor Sony. The px7 s2e is very accurate in terms of sound and is brilliant for highs and mids. Not as bass heavy.

Overall out of the box sound quality is brilliant.

    • Have both. B&W win on sound quality every day of the week, it's not even close. THe B&M is much nicer build quality too (except for defects - see below)

However, the B&W has some flaws that might be noteworthy:
      - Bluetooth seems to be patchy, sometimes connects sometimes doesn't.
      - The auto off feature sucks really bad.
      - Certain batch of these have had peeling of the foam pads - this happened to me and I returned for a warranty without much fuss, but note that I think the warranty was 1 year and it happened in month 10.
      - In some models there is also a king of ping sound. I had this in mine and not sure if it went away or I got used to it. Some folks rekon its a physical thing with something contacting, others rekon it's poor ANC.

    • I have had the PX7 S2 (non-E) and the QC Ultra.
      - not an audiophile by any means, but much prefer the sound quality/signature of the PX7, brought a smile everytime I used it

Sold it and got the QC Ultra for the ANC which is in a different league (much better, no brainer for flights), but even with the spacial sound (which is nice) I was always missing the PX7 S2's sound.

Portability and ANC won out for me, so sold the QC Ultra's and went with QC Ultra Earbuds, which I don't have the same sound signature expectations that I have of headphones, but basically do the same as the Ultra headphones but in a much smaller package.

    • dont buy the QC ultra's, I've had them and the B&W are a LOT better

  • +3

I have the original B&W PX from 2017 (bought in 2018), still going strong as an almost daily headphone. I only use at home and don't take outside with me.
Honestly, it's the longest lasting pair of headphones I've ever owned. Quality is top notch.

  • My Bose QC 45s broke and I was set on getting QC ultras when they went on sale. Does anyone have any recommendations, I tried the ultras on and they felt really nice but I see a lot of mixed reviews. I see reviews say that the px7 don't have as good noise cancelling.

If your priority is comfort, bass and anc, then get the bose.

Bw sounds more balanced. It is better built.

Me? I only use headphones in the plane. So i dont care for the best sound quality (whatever that means). Plus immersion mode+ movies are pretty great experience.

    • S2e is not S2. It is S2 “enhanced”.

  • Are there any major differences between PX7 and PX8?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/880161

PX8 a pretty good price from Amazon Germany.

    • Px8 overall. But you are not going to see that price again.

    • PX8 are 1K. What good price?

  • I have this one, a query - When I connect via usb c, the sound doesn't come good, very flat.

  • I have these, they are excellent, better than the Sony xm5 and Bose qc I tried. Everyone says the ANC is bad but it’s good for me for flying and totally blocking conversations next to me. I’ve had no issues with Bluetooth, the microphone,

One note is that they won’t work using the 3.5mm audio jack when the battery is flat. They will still work when flat when using the usb c to usb c cable.

Also, I have had one cover of the foam pad slip off after one years use, they will be sent back soon under those two year warranty.

  • I was excited when I read the reviews on these, but all the Redditors seem to think the only difference to the PX7, that were sold off at almost half this price not long ago, is that the high frequencies are rolled off a bit more making them sound more like the Sonys and Boses.
    Rtings hasn't reviewed this model.

  • Expired. Now $499.
