Ozito PXC 18V Cordless Hedge Trimmer & Blower 2.5Ah Kit PXHTBK-2518 $139 Delivered / C&C / in-Store @ Bunnings

440

The hedge trimmer kit (with 2Ah battery) is $119 alone, so this promo kit is great value with the split tube blower and 2.5Ah battery for only $20 more.

I've found this style of blower to be most effective at blowing leaves from gutters.

Champion! No doubt. No doubt in my mind!

  • Is this any good? Anyone used it before?

    • +2

      The OP has! :-P

I've found this style of blower to be most effective at blowing leaves from gutters.

      • What about grass clippings from concrete paths?

        • +3

It'll get the job done, the trigger style operation gives the user control similar (more versatile?) to a variable speed blower IMHO. I have them all due to different kit bargains and would rate the variable speed 2 x 18v blower vac lowest, yet most effective at lower speed. Workshop blower next, but great for small spaces like the pizza oven. 18v Split tube is highly effective and versatile for patios and gutters, including grass clippings. Axiel jet blower is an absolute beast, will take care of grass and leaves on hard and grass areas, better for larger areas and limited in its capabilities that need a more precise nozzle (even with the "gutter cleaning" attachments - useless for that).

  • Anyone interested in this? I just want the blower. I can do with or without the battery.

We can split it appropriately. Im in vic.

    • I want the Hedge Trimmer. I can do with or without the battery or charger.
Does boxhill bunnings 3128 suit you?

      • Yup! Excellent. Will DM ya. Edit: you are not accepting message. Can u dm me?

    • Anyone in Syd want to go in on one? I just want the hedge trimmer.

      • PM me. I only want the blower and battery

      • *I'm in the Inner West

  • Same price as last year so it's the buy price I guess. Considering I don't need the kit, it works out to be $80 each which is not much discount. It's a deal as I need them. Bought to replace my old Ozito corded trimmer and old Certa blower from Kogan. Kogan Certa tools are cheap still (~$30) and do the basic jobs if you just need them occasionally. This 2.5cm Brushless Chainsaw is $60. Deal?

    • What is it? A chainsaw for ants?!?

      • +1

        25.4cm haha

    • +3

Certa is crap. Nothing beats no fuss bunnings warranty on ozito

      • I got a certa blower which is 1/4 the price working till today. It does the job. Look identical and possible from the same factory with lower grade. Better to compare with the non pxc version ozito. Certa can make it cheaper due to no physical stores. While bunnings makes it easier for physical display and return that's the reason I got into ozito ecosystem and cheap batteries. I can compare them when I receive this ozito blower.

        • Certa is hit and miss. With ozito, there's never a miss thanks for the awesome no nonsense warranty

          • @spy: A neighbor complained about an ozito tool bought 2-3 years ago battery stops charging and no replacement battery due to old version battery. He lost the receipt. I have no idea and no issue with all my ozito tools so far. He said never another ozito again… ryobi is his go now.

            • +2

@bcYield: Moral of the story - keep receipts!

    • This bundle is $139 delivered, so works out to be roughly $70 each not $80

      • My brain was sleeping last night. Thanks for correction.

Need a blower but curious to see thoughts on the 18v vs 36v. Is it worth the upgrade? Looking to clean grass clipping and leaves only.

    • +2

      Have both….the 36v blows it away :)
36v on low is already much stronger with more volume of air movement…..on turbo mode its too much if you're wanting to direct the leaves to move into a pile somewhere. Can probably stand about 3 times the distance away.

      • Perfect thanks!

  • I have both of these and they work fine. I would buy them again.

  • anyone want to split and take the blower? vic

    • hey i want the blower

      • cant pm you, pm me

        • done

  • +1

If you're buying it for the leaf blower, I'd rather suggest getting the 36v one. It's got so much more power.

  • +1

It's worth noting that the hedge trimmer in this is not the one sold as $89 skin/$119 kit. Idk if the differences are meaningful or not as on paper it all sounds very similar, just worth pointing out.

Blower is the standard split tube they sell.

I got one of these a few days back (both parts useful to me) but in true OzB fashion it's still sitting in the box.

    • What makes you think its not the same? It looks identical

    • Can anyone speak to the differences? I don't need the blower, and already unsure whether to go with this hedge trimmer or find a 36v.

      • +1

Looking at the manuals, the skin only 18v trimmer (PXCHTS-018) is the same trimmer in the 18v trimmer kit (PXCHTK-218), the blade is 460mm long, cutting capacity 11mm, 2200 SPM, 2.1kg.

        The 18v trimmer (PXHTS-1840) with the blower kit has a 475mm blade, cutting capacity 12mm, 2400SPM, 1.9kg.

  • are people buying into one "platform" or buying into multiple? As a home user I went ryobi just because of the warranty, easy access and lots of options but it pains me when I see how inexpensive the Ozito gear is from time to time but just don't want to deal with another battery charger etc.

    • +1

Multiple platforms for me… I started with ryobi, then there was a great deal on aldi garden tools, then there was a great delay on an ozito lawn mower, then an ozito weed sprayer, then an ozito circular saw…

I have a couple of battery adapters which also helps (e.g., use aldi battery in an ozito or ryobi tool)

      • Yeah. Just purchases an adaptor for a coupe of AEG batteries I had lying around. Few adaptors for key platforms (ozito and ryobi) I think.

    • +1

I have Makita, Ryobi and Ozito. I don't have a problem having 3 different systems. Not every tool needs to be pro level. Or even close to it. If a tool does the job, then I am happy with it.

Only started buying Ozito about 3 or so years ago, and that was because a lot of their tools are just such great value, as well as the relatively frequent deals on the tools and batteries.

After buying the first couple I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were, so I bought a few more, then a couple more, then another…….

      • yeah, my father in law had one and it was great value. batteries are much cheaper for the same AH.

  • Has anyone used the 18v vs the 36v hedge trimmer option? Curious about the payoff of added power vs the cost of added weight in use. Seems like it would be awfully heavy, for a task that's all extended arm work when cutting. But more powerful, on the other hand!

    • +1

I have an 18v ryobi hedge trimmer and found that it’s fine for my Lilly pillies. Unsure about the ozito, but I imagine it would be similar

    • +1

Have you held one in store? It's properly heavy even without batteries installed. Too heavy to be swinging around a hedge IMO

      Note that there are 3x models of 18v hedger; 11mm, 12mm, 13mm.

I have the 11mm cutting capacity version (step below OP model), it's a bit lacking for my lilly pilly hedge but I take my time and make do.

Have been considering upgrading to the 13mm PXHTK-4050 model but there are never any deals on it.

      • Can you really tell the diff between 11mm and 13mm. Received mine. It's much lighter than my old corded one. Haven't tested on the hedge yet.

        • I also have the pole hedger which is 12mm and is noticeably better, just really awkward to use on small hedges.

  • Anyone want to split - I don't need the blower. Melbourne

  • If anyone needs the trimmer, please message me. Sydney based

    • PMd!

  • +1

    Anyone needs the trimmer?
    Melb based. Central area.

    • Me - in Box Hill but we can work it out.

  • I need the hedge trimmer and battery + charger. Anyone want to split? I’m in VIC Deer Park, 3023
    Actually need it today lol

  • For those splitting, how are you planning to manage warranty claims? As I understand it, if you make a claim on the trimmer you would also need to return everything else in the kit, being the blower, battery & charger. Unless you are splitting and also forgoing warranty.

    • That's a cerebral point and very much something to consider/define.
As long as both parties remain in touch, upon failure, organisation to return the entire kit for a replacement (if available) under warranty, or return for refund would be the options.
