Awesome, I just bought a helicopter too.

Love to know the dimensions of this.

    • +6

      230mm x 280mm

      • -3

In that case better to use an A4 sheet of paper, draw a circle in the centre, with the letter "H" inside the circle. Save yourself $1.

        • +7

Hey, the price of the ink and paper (rounded up to the nearest dollar) is $1!

This is therefore EQUAL IN VALUE??!1!!@?

          heh.

Clearly someone is in a bad mood.

        • +3

I can tell you I still have boxes of paper from the staples deals, and heaps of pens and markets from the sharpie offer, I can assure you there is not cost to make your own.

Honestly, you wouldn't bust your backside in this Melbourne heat to pick up one of these.

        • +1

lol @ melbourne heat, come to brisbane

Hey don't forget about Tasmania either.

        • TASSY!

      • Damn too small for my Trex 600

        • +8

And too small for my AH-64.

        • hahaha

          yes!

  • +4

    Haha that's awesome. +1 for a heli-good deal.

You should add 'R/C' to the title. I got excited for a second there and thought that I could score a cheap full-seized helipad so I wouldn't have to land my spare helicopter on the front lawn anymore.

    • +1

A helipad would be great for camping.
But I was more disappointed about the recent Aircraft Carrier deal.

I got excited for a second there and thought that I could score a cheap full-seized helipad so I wouldn't have to land my spare helicopter on the front lawn anymore.

Where and when are these Helipad repo Auctions on?

  • Is this actually suitable for a mouse pad? Looks like the edges will start getting damaged easily.

    • +1

Probably not, but if it is suitable, it's a dollar.. Cheap enough to buy 10 replacements.

I kinda want it as a mousepad too, my cyborg RAT looks like it could transform into a helicopter.

    • +1

      ??? How can you tell?

      • look at the close up photo, looks like one of those cheap mousepads which have a layer of foam with a layer of "fabric" on top which peels off and frays at the edges.

        • To be honest i can't see that in the photo! And because it's not a mousepad i would think it's just a piece of painted plastic, which may be even worse than a cheap mouse pad if you use it as a mouse pad :)

  • Do I have a spare dollar?

  • +1

This would go great with these: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/90149

    • Are you 100% sure these 2 items are compatible?

      • +2

These are compatible, provided you get his and hers heli so they won't fight over the pad

  • +1 for awesome description

  • Sorry mate, the other package comes with helipad game :P

  • +5

misread as 'hell pad' maybe it's time to stop being so stingy and put both contacts in (I wear one at a time, alternating eyes, it extends the $220 cost from three months to six.)

    • +6

      i'll give u half a laugh

    • I'll give you a +1, great ozbargain eye contacts tip

    • trying to keep a close eye on OzBargain, are you?

    • Thanks, you just gave me a good idea for next time I'm buying glasses. Ask for a discount if I only take 1 lens.

  • +4

Nice find, but I can bet that most of you will crash land the helicopter rather than on the helipad…. lol. xD

  • +1

Got 2 from Brisbane CBD today, love them - but I don't have any RC toys, so I use it as a slightly-bigger mouse pad - nice!

I reckon if Dick Smith cannot get rid of all the Heli pads this time, they can put a sticker with letter "M" over the "H", then it becomes a Mouse pad, and can even sell it for $10 because of the sneaky design :D

Thanks OP for this great find, this is the first time in my life to buy something interesting and fits nicely as a mouse pad. (let's face it most of the mouse pads are boring)

    • +2

i'll give u the other half of the laugh…because of your determination in getting the heli pads

    • so are they foam with a fabric layer ontop?

      • Quite close, it's exactly like one of those good-old mouse pads: a piece of fabric glued over a rubber backing, I don't think they will last long as fabric may start peeling off after some wear-and-tear.

        But for a dollar, can't complain :)
