The one sold at Costco is not identical to the sold in this deal.

      • The one sold at Costco uses article number 15443, and the Jura website calls it Factory Serviced S8.
      • The one sold at JB Hi-Fi uses article number 15651, and the Jura website calls it S8.

When looking at the Jura website (and the manuals for these two machines), there appears to be a number of differences between these two models:

      Factory Serviced S8 (Costco) S8 (JB Hi-Fi)
      Model year 2021(?)1 2023
Number of specialty coffees 15 27
      Lungo function No Yes
Grinder Professional Aroma Grinder Professional Aroma Grinder 2
      Built-in Wi-Fi No Yes
      Sweet foam function No Yes
Water filter cartridge CLARIS Smart CLARIS Smart+
      Height-adjustable coffee spout 72 - 118 mm 65 - 111 mm
      Height-adjustable cappuccino spout 111 - 157 mm 107 - 153 mm
      Height-adjustable hot-water spout 111 - 157 mm 70 - 116 mm

If you look at the image of the machines used on the Costco and JB Hi-Fi websites, the machines look very similar, but are not identical (particularly if you look at the milk frother system on the right of the front of the machine).

      1. I could not find a model year for the Factory Serviced S8 on the Jura website, but Product Review suggests it has been around since 2020, the first product on that OzBargain product tag is from 2021, and the manual appears to use 2021.

I do not have enough bad words to describe how much I hate companies reusing the same model number for what are actually different devices.

In case anyone was hoping the wifi is useful on the JB model, it's not. It's probably the most token effort I've ever seen to just be able to tick a box on a spec sheet, it's practically useless. The coffee is great on these machine though.

Interesting, admittedly I didn't look too deeply, just the model numer. That said I do prefer the higher spouts lol

Ermmm wouldn’t really call that a ‘hack’ lol

Also cheaper elsewhere ($200 less at Costco)

    • Cool dude! thanks for sharing man.

I don't have costco membership… hmmm maybe I should get one huh?

  • +1

Price match with costco then use the jb perks for further $30 off $2069.

      • 3% cashreward gift card, just bare in mind it takes up to 72 hours to deliver. Mine $1000 took about 8 hours.
    • JB typically won't price match with Costco because it's a 'members only price'. I've never had any luck with it anyway.

  • Op How good is this compared to a semi auto I have a Breville barista touch but thinking of going full auto like this. Is the froth any good with this? Also does it do cold drinks?

    • +1

It's just simple when you need to up and go especially if you got a busy lifestyle - one button push and then just need to do a wash and clean at end of day - very simple!

The froth is passable, still not the same as hand froth but again - saved me time!

  • Bean (pun intended) waiting for this to go back to $999

Makes me wonder if I'd love this more despite being much more than double the price. My old Breville BES870BSS died so long ago. Painful to think how much I've spent on takeout coffee in the last 12-18 months.

I have the Jura ENA8. Picked it up for around $1100. Great machine, and from all accounts this brand is super reliable but after 18 months have a little buyers’ remorse. I use it almost exclusively for Espresso shots (for adding to Iced LB etc) and don’t use the milk function at all. It’s just me so at most use the machines twice a day.

Delonghi are a decent brand too, maybe also check out the Dinamica which I believe is a discontinued model but still a great machine and can be found for well under $1K during sale times/using codes etc. Other advice I would give is avoid touch screen machines where possible, tactile buttons are infinitely better!

      • Some awesome advice there, really appreciate it!

      • Thanks for the advice. Why is it best to avoid touch screens?

        • +1

In my experience they are just a bit gimmicky - they use a different type of technology as phone screens etc and as such are slow to respond/swipe, sometimes don't respond at all to touches etc. Hard to explain but you'll know if you try them. Mind you I've only used a handful of machines with touch screens so there may be some better ones out there. Problem is, most machines on the market today have them!

    • I picked one up at $970 with 3% off Amazon gift cards last time around and I love my Delonghi.
      Haven't looked back.
It is such a solid super automatic coffee machine. Almost made back the cost of the machine from the money I have saved not buying coffees everyday from the cafe!
