Vinyl Records from $14.99 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

230

ok, so most of the cheaper ones are junk and/or singles etc but some pretty decent titles in the $30-$40 range, which makes for $20-$30 if its your birthday again this month with perks voucher ;)

Some cheaper picks for mine are Korn, Nas, Arcade Fire, Pixies, Mars Volta, Melvins, Mudhoney, Ozzy, CCR, Rolling Stones, Mike Patton (Faith No More) bands in Dead Cross and Tomahawk

vinyl prices in general have become ridiculous…if you can find somehting you want to add to your collection for under $30 you are doing well by todays standard

Current prices have killed the enjoyment I had from collecting, they are completely gouging us on price in Australia. I only purchase "must have" titles now, a handful a year instead of 50-100.

Most local record stores (at least in Sydney) can do vinyl cheaper than JB and you're supporting a local store. I still don't understand why people buy records from JB.

for many outside the regular travel zone of a CBD, the LRS is JB Hifi unfortuneately

Any turntable recommendation for a first setup? Got an amp with phono input and a pair of bookshelf speakers connected to a Wiim Mini at the moment and want to explore the vinyl world.

Had a look at the Audio Technica LX60 but not many good reviews due to the build quality…

      Project make good ones

    • The lp60x is a fine starter and worlds better then the Crosly/marley garbage you see around. Plenty of second hand ones can be had for sub $100 too if you keep an eye out. Just remember to always replace the stylus on a second hand unit before playing anything. But even new at sub $300 it's the best at that pricepoint.

    • The LP120 is a good starting point, or a Pro-Ject Essential. Anything with an adjustable weight tonearm and replaceable stylus will work.

    • i posted that one a while back…a read thorugh comments may help your thought process; personally i would go second hand vintage route…good luck !
