Not bad OP not bad at all!

Decent deal! I've had an S24+ since launch and it's been great.

  • okish deal but for those who know about the JBHIFI hack/deal, this price for a S24+ is hard to swallow.

    • What was the jb price?

      • +6

about the same for a s25+

            @John Doh: FY24 Trading Performance
The Group reports for the 12 months ending 30 June 2024:
            • total sales of $9.59 billion;
            • earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of $647.2 million;
            • net profit after tax (NPAT) of $438.8 million;

@Jaduqimon: I know about it, but still your karma is your own. Does not matter which corporate you are tricking.

            • @Jaduqimon: So, a 4% dividend? Or 6% depending on how you look at it? That sounds pretty reasonable to me. Curious if others think this is outrageously high or low

          • +6

@John Doh: You should get off this website then because technically every bargain you buy makes the merchant lose money compared to when you buy at full rrp.

            • @dodoli: Making a company lose more money than they invested vs reduced profits are 2 different things. If you want to do it, do it. I never asked anybody not to do it. I wont, thats all.

It looks like JB doesn't sell brand new S24+ 256GB anymore…

  • Anything for an Ultra?

    • This is only for the S24+

  • Ultra not included?

    • +2

This is only for the S24+

    • Ultra is always a lower quantity seller, and since it's the premium-tier it doesn't make sense for them to sell it alongside the latest ultra. The "typical" Ultra customer is less price sensitive.

      • Not really. The Ultra deals come later in the year, similar to S24 Ultras going all the way down to like $1k-$1.3k.

        • It appears I am mistaken. They are still selling the S24 ultra. I made an assumption that they followed Apple with selling older base models but not Pro/Max.

  • Not bad! But just only s24?

    • This is only for the S24+

  • -7

Why do people want the 24 when the 25 is already out?

    • +33

Because you're on a bargain website, and buying year old flagships is a great way to save money.

    • +5

25 is not a lucky number unlike 24

  • What chip is s24+ using for aussi market ? Snapdragon?

    • Good question.

    • +1

AI says: S24+ sold in Australia is powered by the Exynos 2400 processor, not the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. While the S24 Ultra utilizes the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in every market, the S24 and S24+ models in Australia and other select regions, including Europe, are equipped with the Exynos 2400.

      • Then this must be the RRP I guess, I saw many comments about heat issues when using camera for video recording

    • After trying out PC emulation with Winlator/MiceWine, I'm firmly in the Snapdragon camp.

    • Exynos. Whereas all the S25 ranges are Snapdragon. Although, the S24 is a very good phone regardless of chip.

    $749 with chat coupon

    • +$30-$60 fee if you don't return your device

      • So can you avoid returning the device and still get the trade in bonus of 150+100?

      • Only $30 if your trade-in device is under $50. I used a $1 trade in as a reference point.

    • What did you ask for to get the coupon?

      • +1

ask if they have any vouchers

      • +1

Just say you are upgrading from Apple and need a bonus 100$ trade in voucher. They will mostly not say no. The profit is huge in this for them and they know that samsung resale value is shit.

  • Any extra discount by using samsung pay?
    Edit - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/898549

    😭

    • It was around $646 when 10% of Samsung Pay offer was available.

    • I think 5% extra off for using the Shop app

  • +1

Is this still a good daily driver?

    Considering switching from iPhone.

    • +1

For me it is, it's a great all rounder. I use it heavily all the time for work and personal use and it has never missed a beat.

    • +6

      Got mine for $550.05

      $1549 - $550 (FLASH2) - $100 (Coupon given from chat) - $170 (Trade in) - $150 (Trade in bonus) = $579

$579 with 5% discount on first purchase in Shop app = $550.05

Sharing the math so others might find it useful

    • +1

Yes, it's the all-around best Android phone and arguable the best bang for the buck phone at this price.

    • Its a flagship model. What would have changed in a year?

    • Got it from last deal a month ago paid 650 as it’s so cheap. You can get further discount chatting online . Switched from ip15 pro max. The amount of customisation with android is insane compared to iOS. Android Notification is a lot better. Speed and responsiveness is about the same but I don’t play games. Screen is a lot brighter. It’s also lighter and thinner. Google apps are not as pretty as iPhone apps but more functional. Consider it’s now only 1/3 the price of the equivalent iPhone I’m very happy. End up selling the iPhone and make a healthy profit. Living in Melbourne I can now touch on with my phone too.

      • Sounds good. Preparing switching from iPhone 15 Pro. I found the camera of my iPhone is always out of focus on certain short distance. Also I want a phone with larger screen and not willing to pay $1500+ for pro max.

  • +4

Not a fan of the Exynos chip, I had the Australian one(Exynos chip) and the Snapdragon one side by side and the Snapdragon one has better mobile reception.

    • Qualcomm makes the best modems hands down. Apple had to buy Intel's modem biz just so they could make their own

      • Well I was not aware of this, until a colleague had the exact same model but he came over from Korea and was stunned at how much better reception the Snapdragon version had. We were at a certain spot where i had no service on my phone, his phone was showing 2 bars, and yes we both are on the same network/plan as it is provided by our work.
In my opinion, you are getting a downgrade if you get the Exynos version.

        • Agree. Absolutely hate exynos over Qualcomm.

    • For that reason I decided to trade in my s24 for the s25, as much as I dislike giving Samsung anymore of my hard-earned money. Next to my wife’s pixel 9, my s24 has no internet connection while she’ll get 5G when we were overseas roaming in NZ recently. I think the exynos is OK with 4G, but completely fumbles 5G reception and having so many dropouts while overseas really did a number on me.

I have access to EPP, so fail to see this one as a good deal, cost me about $549 to ‘upgrade’ from my exynos 2400 to the snapdragon elite 8 after trade-in value of $450 for the s24. Fair deal considering how much I dislike the exynos 2400.

  • Ordered mine a month ago and still hasn't shipped.

    • It's a known issue, just chat and ask for order update, they will push

  • Same with mine will ask for an update got it for $736

  • Is the further 10% for Samsung Pay still going?

    • I don't think so.

      Seems expired.

  • Thanks OP, got one for my mum, timing for the deal couldn't have been better. PS: I had another 15% voucher it didn't work with FLASH2 code. You could only use one or the other.

  • +2

Confirming i was able to obtain another $100 trade in bonus voucher on top of the $150 via chat. Thanks op.

    • the trading bonus isn't coming up for me. Flash2 replaces it. Is that expected

  • Anyone else have their tradein value ($130 for my s21) charged to your card as a security hold from Asurion? So my total way $619 + $130?

    • I did have mine charged ($170) and also the final price itself ($550)

    • They refund the security charge once they receive the trade in phone and check that it is in the condition you declared. If you dont return the phone or if the phone is in a different condition to what you declared, they wont refund the security charge or only partially refund it.

  • This has a crappy Exynos chip rather than the Snapdragon, no thanks

    • Only the US version has snapdragon as far as I know

  • +1

Lots of comments referring to the $150 trade in bonus as if it's a given. What if you don't have one of the limited list of phones which qualify for trade in. Is there a trick to getting the bonus regardless?

    • -1

You also have the choice to do a smart watch and then you state the screen is broken and get the value down to $1. Then don't actually send it back and cancel the paypal authorisation for the company that does the trade in to avoid any penalties…

  • Anyone know if the trade-in will be ineligible if the phone has ever been opened? I had an iFixit battery installed last year. To be honest, it made little difference and I wished if I had never opened it. Just thinking if I put back the original as it was, would that still be detected as "opened" and thereby ineligible for trade-in?

    • +1

It does ask whether 3rd party equipment has been added. It might be ok if you swap it back?

      • Thanks mate, I noticed it only talks about having non-genuine parts, not whether it was ever opened. Not sure if that's still counted, I guess I'll find out.

  • Got mine for $406. Probably gonna sell it to be honest

    Thanks for the info

  • The phone is so expensive. It’s not worth it imo.

  • -1

Can I just just trade in a useless iPhone?

    • Define "useless"

I did trade in my working 12 mini

      • +1

        I have a iphone 5s

  • Might be the best price currently available but still more than previous secret sales.

    • +1

$749 with chat code means this is cheapest.

      • 2 deals that have been cheaper than this.
        10/3/25 ~$644 including free case ($929.40 secret sale price - $1 trade in - $150 trade in bonus - $100 chat code - 5% first purchase app)
        30/3/25 ~$646 ($1006.85 sale price - $1 trade in - $150 trade in bonus - $100 chat code - 5% first purchase app - 10% samsung pay)
Extra $100 cashback for Amex users that had the cashback deal for $500 spend for both of those deals. Not sure if this is still available

        This deal ~$710 ($1549 - $550 (FLASH2) - $1 trade in - $150 trade-in Bonus - $100 chat code - 5% first purchase app)

  • +1

Thanks for this. I got one last night for $664. I got $50 trade in for my current phone and got the extra $100 discount from the chat.

  • my broken s10 was ineligble for a trade in … so skipped the deal

    • So are you saying not even a $

  • Has anybody not sent the traded in phone and, other than the security cost, been penalised the original trade in bonuses?
Chat tells me all bonuses will be charged back if you dont send in the trade…

    • would also like to know this - years ago i never traded in my phone and i only was charged the $60 late fee.
I'm convinced that they would charge back your whole discount now as well, but I've also heard otherwise because they use a 3rd party!
anyone have confirmation from trying this recently?

  • how is the camera, compared to pixel 8?
I have to replace s21 which has much worse camera than pixel 6 (release about the same time) so do not want to make the mistake of getting samsung instead of pixel again.
