Apple warranty for earphones is also 12 months standard
Had to walk into apple store 3 times as they could not replicate the connection issue on airpods and said nothing we could do. Will avoid any further apple purchases from now on as in my experience the superior warranty is not worth the paper it is printed on.

Mydeal is an Australian retailer so doesn’t matter if grey stock or not. ACL applies and thus you can get fixed under warranty for a “reasonable time” (at least 3 years)

I dont think an earphone will be supported for 3 years under ACL.
They will give you a refund and you can buy another pair. But you have to be firm and involve your consumer ombudsman. ACL states “Statutory rights are not limited to a set time period. Instead, they apply for the amount of time that is reasonable to expect, given the cost and quality of the item."
I would argue earphones should be expected to last at least 3 years given the price point. It’s not a $5 AliExpress pair of earphones

For few dollars extra, better to take the easy route IMHO.
Yes my son had problems with a pair that developed a fault bought from Mydeal. In the end they refunded but was a battle (even after Apple ran a test and gave hime a report as proof.)
