I've got a Lenovo M10 3rd gen which was OK until the screen began to stop responding to touch over the last couple of months, screen has to be turned off and back on again to temporarily regain it (multiple times per hour). Apparently a widespread issue on the M10 model judging by comments on Reddit and Lenovo's forums. It appears to be a software issue - not sure if these models above are affected but might be worth doing some research before you buy one.

    • still within warranty?

      • Regrettably not.

Still, Itโ€™s better than an asinine comment.

Strangely, mine did this for about 18 months then came good a few months ago. Very strange, does smell of software.

    • 99 bucks for a tablet that really good.

    • hi I have 4 x M10 and they all have the same issue with the screen not responding. They havent updated the OS in ages too

      • Have you come across any workaround for it? It seems to happen a bit less with a different launcher (i.e. Nova), but still often enough to be annoying.

    • Is that the Lenovo Tab M10 Plus 3rd Gen Android Tablet with 10", 2K Screen?

Have you updated to the latest Android? What Version?

  • The one with LTE is good.

  • +4

Note: The Tab M11 will only receive updates up to Android 15.

    • yeah I've been pretty disappointed with lenovo android updates.

Can't help but cringe at the sight of 3GB/32GB in a $99 tablet. They'd still make good margins with 4GB or even 6GB RAM and 64GB storage.

    • +1

Which reminded me to dig up my Teclast P85T that cost A$73 at the time and now around A$95. Build quality certainly less premium, but newer Android, better CPU, more RAM and storage. If they gave it GPS and a better display it would be awesome.

i'm looking for deals for the nxtpaper 14

    • I wonder if the screen is that good for eyestrain (as I've never physically/ real world seen one)?

      • i mostly want to avoid zooming in and out for reading

Lenovo Tabs…. kids might not complain…

Looking for something either cheaper than 99. Or 4/64 for 99 tonrun home assistant

    • +2

I was about to ask if M8 is good for home assistant…

      • +2

Me 3 (want to use as a home assistant dashboard) - tho from the looks of it the M8 can only run up to Android 13 - I'd probably want one that can be upgraded to Android 15

    • +1

Looking for something cheaper than $0.01.

      • +1

Thats nice. I'd be happy to spend $50 though.

    • I bought the M8 in the previous deal and use it for an HA dashboard, fairly basic one but runs fine full screen.

  • +1

If you have the budgets get the tab plus, it have amazing speakers and already on Android 15. Also if you have education email try check in lenovo education sites, last time I get that for $299 plus 20% cash back from top buy.

  • just bought a M8 for the kids today for $147 at Officeworks. dang

    • +1

      Price beat OW

    • -1

      Return it?

    • Do you rate it? Iโ€™m looking for something for kids to just watch Netflix etc. and considering it.

      • +2

I had the same for our kids, the performance is incredibly basic at 3gm ram. I've each upgraded them to the M11 LTE when it was $249 recently. Gave them their own sim card on the data pool to get them off my hotspot.

If you can afford the M11 or anything with better performance do it

  • +1

Those are relatively old processers. Dunno if the tablet will be lagged or not

Looking for something either cheaper than 99. Or 4/64 for 99 tonrun home assistant

  • Would get this for onenote tablet but needs to be 13inch like real a4 otherwise mentally I canโ€™t do it

  • +3

I love Lenovo tabs, unfortunately mine from 2020 is still going strong. It's E8 and it runs Android Go. Whopping 1Gb ram. I charge it about once a week and it's good for reading books at the gym and talking to deepseek in between sets. If you only wanna do the basics this is plenty. The people asking about Home assistant lol, yes it can do that and more.

Who remembers the popular OzB Ainol android tablets from 10+ years ago?

Would any of it work to do day trading ?
I am new to trading and learning it, I have a lot of free time at work but I am not allowed to use laptop whereas tabs could be fine

    • +1

I think you should go. Your every comments refers to "day trading" (i.e. gambling and losing money). This is not the place for gamblers, but people who want to save money.

    • +1

If you are asking this question (as you are on other posts), then you probably don't know enough about tech or trading to get into this.

    • +2

Most platforms will let you day trade on your mobile. They're very happy to take your money.

    • professionals don't use mobile phones (or mobiles) to trade.

  • Thanks OP.

  • I got the M8 recently when they did similar offer. it's slow at first as I believe it's not optimised. but once you adjust the developer settings (YouTube) it becomes quicker to navigate. definitely good enough for light games and web browsing/ YouTube. Not recommended for heavy game use

  • oh btw and they're offering the 2024 model not the slower 2023 model in youtube

  • Very worthwhile pay for 299 get tap+pen and still 0%surcharge, after pay.

  • Where do you enter the discount code?

  • If anyone has purchased a tablet and doesn't want their pen. Willing to buy as long as it's compatible with the M10 Plus 3rd Gen Tab. Let me know…
