I believe that is only if your school/uni has signed up to use the JB BYOD program and you are buying something on that list.
BYOD is a special arrangement, warranty and stuff all needs to be done via them not the stores. Been there, done that.

Apple education pricing isn't that great, and you often get better prices when there's a sale.
