It works on SteamDeck! Use Heroic Games Launcher.

  • Absolutely loved BOF3 on the PSX, how does this compare?

    • +2

It's pretty similar but I always thought BOF3 had the better story and dragon system. Iirc BOF4 got rushed out a bit so the back half the game is under baked and some systems like the dragon stuff is not as good.

Yep BoF3 is goated. It’s my favourite RPG ever, love it so much. BoF4 is good but falls short in comparison.

        • Yup. 3>4 would be my order.

I played dragon quarter for a few hours and was confused and annoyed. The stat reset and story reset thing was beyond stupid.

It felt like they made a generic dungeon crawler and slapped BoF on it afterwards.

Can April chill for a moment? I swear there's been something like 5 RPG releases in the span of a single week. 💀

Absolutely hit me in the nostalgia when I saw this news though. No brainer for me - I really hope BoF3/Dragon Quarter is in the cards down the road at some point also!

Nice, good to see GOG patching this to make it playable.

I tried to run it on windows 7 wayyyy back then and it didn't even boot up. So I'm pretty sure they would've had to patch it to make it work on windows 10/11

  • GoG - I stare at the online shop window. Each click forward or back, I loose nostalgia memories.

Sadly this seems to be a barely updated version of the 2003 port and still has some graphical and input issues, which is a damn shame because BoF4 arguably has the best sprite art of all JRPGs out there, this really was capcom in their prime during the peak of 2D graphics.

  • Only ever got up to number 3. Is the soundtrack just as awesome like in previous versions?

  • Wish they would do a BoF 6 or at least remaster/remake 1-4

    • 1 and 2 have pretty massively dated systems.
      Well definitely 1.

The graphics and story still hold up, but fighting never-ending micro battles just trying to move across the map made me give up BoF 1

      • 2 is the best

    • I never really got into BoF but I remember that one of them needing to complete the game in x hours or it's all game over?

      • Sounds like 5. It was… odd.
