You must own a home as these are BIG and if you RENT this is BIG thing to move and very fragile… I would also say over 65" id be looing at a lazer projector

      • +3

Lol hard disagree with your advice. Saying you need to own your home to get a big TV..

        • +2

I guess you need to have a room with a large enough space to accommodate a TV screen of this size. Preferably a large lounge room with a large wall with a power point nearby.

      • Just keep the box if you rent. If you have the space, that is.

      • +2

My brothers LG 85" has been moved 5 times lol its now around 8 years old and working well. He paid $2800 for it.

A mix of rentint and owning a hone

Can’t work out difference between c745pro and c755?

    • +5

C745 PRO is QLED and C755 is QD-Mini. That's the big difference.

But the C755 85" is $2120 at JB which is a lot more expensive then the C745 PRO. Being a QD-Mini TV the reason why.

      • Thanks…
Need 75” C755 but seems to be out of stock. Will wait

        • +5

However the 75" C855 QD-Mini is in stock and is on sale at JB on the 1 day sale. But is $2120. However it's a slightly higher end model compared to the C755. It's got a better screen panel and perhaps a better video processor chip. A lot more dimming zones and a lot higher peak brightness compared to the C755 model. C755 75" has 640 local dimming zones / 1300 nits peak brightness but the C855 75" is 2160 local dimming zones / 3500 nits peak brightness which is superior. C855 is a much better TV.

          • @hollykryten: Agree and saw that but $1500 max and 75” screen are 2 criteria for now

        • Waiting is the right answer. The 85C745 Pro can go as low as 1200 or even 900 with trade-in, coupons, bonuses, discounted gift cards, etc

      • That's a "big" generalisation.

If you look at the actual specs its not a big difference between these 2 models.
Only a small increase in peak brightness and number of dimming zones.

        • +1

It didn't look like a small increase to me. 640 to 2160 local dimming zones is no small increase. 1300 to 3500 nits peak brightness is not a small increase either.

          • +1

            @hollykryten: That's the C855, not the C755.
The C755 is 1500 nits and 880 zones.
            Like I said, small differences.

            • @Viper8: Well i was comparing the C755 75" to the C855 75". As Ssaeed62 is looking to buy a 75" TV only.

As officially the C755 75" 75C755 model has 640 local dimming zones and 1300 nits peak brightness. It's written in B&W on the official product page. You plucked the 880 dimming zones and 1500 nits peak brightness from the 85C755 model but as that's not correct for the 75C755 model. It's 640 zones and 1300 peak brightness. All different sizes in the C755 range have different dimming zones and peak brightness specs.

"640 local dimming zones / 1300 nits peak brightness"

              https://www.tcl.com/au/en/tvs/75c755

But the 75C855 (75" C855 model) has 2160 local dimming zones / 3500 nits peak brightness. That's not a small difference compared to the 75C755 model.

"2160 local dimming zones / 3500 nits peak brightness"

              https://www.tcl.com/au/en/tvs/75c855

So please get the model specs right. They all have different dimming zones and peak brightness spec differences. Those two 75" models specifically. I was not talking about an 85" model.

              • @hollykryten: Mate what are you on about?

I responded to your comment responding to the question comparing the deal (85C745Pro) to the 755 variant.

Zero mention of 75" or C855.

Look at the level of indent of the comments to see the heirachy.

                • @Viper8: Responded to from where Ssaeed62 was looking for the C755 75" model but JB was out of stock.

About the dimming zones and peak brightness. It was from this comment of mine. However i simply mentioned that as an available alternative of the out of stock C755 75" TV instead the C855 75" model was in stock at JB as an alternative. And how it was a superior TV in specs compared to the C755 75" model. So yes there was a mention by me of the C855 75" model. Good reason too because the C755 75" model is never going to be restocked being discontinued. Ssaeed62 is never going to get that model.

p.s. I really don't think that the TCL C755 75" is ever going to be in stock at JB again. It's a discontinued model. Sold out at every other B&M retailer. Even Amazon AU doesn't have it any more. Which is why i gave the alternative model recommendation for the C855 75" TV. So do you understand now?.

                  • @hollykryten: No. My comment is in response to you original comment: on 26/04/2025 - 08:54. Anyways…

                    • @Viper8: In that comment which you're talking about right now (2nd Comment) i didn't mention any thing to do with a dimming zones or peak brightness. Only in my 4th comment did i do that but that was in response to the C755 75" model which Ssaeed62 was wanting (from the 3rd Comment). My comment about the C855 75" being available of an alternative for a TV of the same size and brand but just the next model up. So yeah if you want to talk about comment hierarchy well that's what it is.

                      • @hollykryten: "C745 PRO is QLED and C755 is QD-Mini. That's the big difference."

I responded to this, and raised dimming zones and brightness being similar to show your comment is wrong.

                        Goodbye now.

                        • @Viper8: Yes well that was my original comment. And yes QLED and QD-Mini LED is a big difference in technologies. That was only for my original comment.

To say that the technologies are not a big difference is like saying ordinary LED and QLED is only a small difference.

However my comment about dimming zones and peak brightness only referred to the C755 vs C855 75" models. You may have been going on about C745 Pro vs C755 when it comes to dimming zones but i was not.

Thanks OP, been keeping an eye on this TV for a little while now.

  • Tried to buy this TV. Got charged and given this e-mail right after.

    Your order has been cancelled
Unfortunately, your recent order of $1,574.00 has failed our verification process and been cancelled.

I just joined the perks to get $10 off. Maybe this is why? I've never used perks before.

Oh well, maybe it's a sign I shouldn't buy this TV lol

  • Is this a good TV for watching sports? My brother has the Samsung frame TV and I'm not a fan of how the AFL looks on it, as if the ball becomes blurry in flight.

I'm still rocking a 60 inch Pioneer plasma with Firestick so I know an update is due.

  • Can I pick it up at JB?

    • If there's stock at your nominated store, yes.

  • Very good value for the size

  • Added to cart and cost increases to $1,695 before delivery. I can't get it at $1,525. Unfortunately they don't deliver to me anyway. Will keep an eye out for other deals.

  • Most times the TCL deals pop up they dont deliver to me

  • +1

Very happy with this TV, have the 98", bought it for $2100, including delivery and wall mounted.. Just got lucky while I took this one in Apr 2024 😉

  • Are these good enough to run PLEX or i should stick to my Nvidia Shield or firestick
