Was looking at oils for my Toyota Corolla hybrid, pretty good deal as it's still $91 at Repco.

Those with tight-engine-parts, lots of COLD-morning 1st start < 5°C, drive for mileage, manufacturer recommend 5W-30 oil…consider
a.GF6-ILSAC / A5-ACEA oil.
b.thinner oil, eg 0W-20 & 0W-16.
c.observe the behaviour of the above oil relative to your existing…including used-oil after you have drained it.
d.'water viscosity oil' @ room temp. when shaking a 5L bottle DO translate to thinner-oil @ Operating temp: you can FEEL & HEAR the differences…ignore expert-critic here. Those who've experimentED with the above are free to share their experience.
Even Nulon 5W-30 Apex+ is thinner than THEIR-equivalent 5W-30 in the last decade: I still have one with Oct-2017 printed, lol, https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Shop-our-Full-R…
@brad1-8tsi…really?
What kind of AI are you using to write these incomprehensible posts?
Is this the same oil they use at Toyota dealer servicing ?
No.
Depends on the dealer and the agreements they have with various oil companies. I stopped working in Toyota dealerships around 12 years ago, the last one I was at, they used Castrol. Prior to the last dealership, the others used Mobil and Caltex.
What ever they can negotiate for a low-price…PREMIUM-brand only. LAST decade, a friend show me an invoice from Mercedes dealership & it noted 'Castrol Magnatec 5W-30', lol.
It depends on the agreement the franchise/dealership has.
I go for this one too. My brother in law works for Repco, and even with his employee discount doesn't get it this cheap.
I've been running this for 5 years through these types of deals. I was on 0w-20, and briefly 5w-30, but I found the increase mileage offset the higher price.

'increase mileage': my experience is ~ 2% using Castrol Magnatec Stop-Start 5W-30 compare to say Castrol 10W-30. I stay away from thicker 5W-30.
Nothing more than 'increase mileage'? Be as factual as you can & ignore expert-critic here ( • ̀ω•́ )✧🤔
It's not much, but it's noticeable. About .5L/100 (or ~10%) difference on a hybrid. If you drive 100km a week and change your oil once a year, that's about $40
You do burn through it a little quicker, so it needs topping up every 3 months, but I still have some left in the bottle at the end of it.
About .5L/100 (or ~10%) difference on a hybrid
That's relatively high %…likely due to tighter engine-tolerance of hybrid?
What about COLD-morning 1st-start < 5°C ?
It's greater to see people progress beyond MERE-readings & experiment..REAL-knowledge.
This one or Mobile1 0w20?
Not bad for the GF6 water viscosity oil.
I usually wait for 20% codes on eBay and get the 0w20 Nulon APEX+, $45-48 is usually the good sweet spot for a deal.
