        Incorrect Buzzer

Honestly 8,000 points or 6,400 on Jetstar is a better option than Classic Plus or just pay if its under $200 per leg

Sydney to Launceston comes out to be $170 return for some dates.

Total return cost for two adults comes to $987 between 2 May and 4 May 2025 from Melbourne, is this a normal fare? Looks too expensive even after $100 discount.

    • The discount is only applicable on travel dates between 26 May to 30 September 2025.

      • +1

Yea, average fare even within those dates comes to ~$800 after $100 discount, too expensive for me with Qantas it seems

    • +1

Jetstar sux but yeh its cheap.. get what u pay for

      • +3

On a short flight, all i hope for is no delays and no crashes.

Damn, I thought I did well with my $84 each way flights from Bris to Hobart Dark Mofo time.

I've never understood peoples hang ups about using cheap airlines especially for domestic flights. I don't find the difference of Qantas vs Jetstar nearly worth the price gap. I'd rather fly cheap and spend my money on better accommodation, food, or experiences at the destination.

      • Yeah Melbourne for me, a bit cheaper :)

Absolutely, I don't see the loyalty of people always flying Qantas for domestic. Much prefer more spending money on the trip!

Normal price: 800 return, now 700. Bargain!

  • +1

If Qantas keep raising prices, we need more of these 'discount' codes

  • +1

Do you think psychologically the reason Aussies travel to Asia a lot is because the domestic flights are so overpriced and monopolized by the very few airlines we have, and lack of transport options (bullet train etc), it seems easy to compare?

Like if i want to travel to Tas from Sydney it's about $1k return. I might as well travel to Japan for that price.

  • Tasmanian tourism is suffering because of these ridiculous flight costs. It costs cheaper from Melbourne through spirit of tassie with a car for a family of 4 in a cabin - 850$ return compared to Qantas.
