So I was checking my email and found this in my inbox. I think this is targeted.

*To qualify for this credit you must be an AGL energy customer and not have the AGL app at the time of this email. $10 credit is a once-off credit inclusive of GST applied to your energy account, for downloading the AGL app and logging in. You must complete these steps by 9 May 2025. If you have both electricity and gas accounts with AGL, the credit will be applied to your electricity account. Credit will be applied on or before 30 June. The credit amount reduces the price of the supply of electricity or gas and is not transferable or refundable. One credit per customer.

    There was a better deal last year, i think it was $30 off or maybe higher off AGL bill with the App.

      I've gotten them about a dozen times since joining a year ago. Got paid pretty much everytime but only because we are a two person household who consciously turn things down during the event.

      Usually this happens on extreme hot days with overcast weather or winter storm surges.

      You won't get these in April - May because weather is pretty good (not to hot, not to cold and plenty of stable sunny weather at least in Victoria). Neither would you get peak events in Oct - early Dec.

    There has been news coming out about gas and electricity companies are making more profits, and yet users bills are going up.

    Similar vibes to the supermarkets saga.

        A price freeze can still be implemented (especially when billions in profits are increasing).

        Rates recently increased for a couple of states.

          No party is going to put in price controls. Big business is big donors to major parties keeping the duopoly.

          It is like all governments shaft small business. They are like 85% of the employment but they don't have a big lobby group.
