Things you should know:
*This Offer is available to selected customers only and is subject to eligibility requirements. This Offer is only available if your transaction account is and remains in good standing and is not closed during the Offer Period (defined below). If your eligible personal Westpac Debit Mastercard is cancelled or suspended during the Offer Period and you met the eligibility requirements before suspension or cancellation, the Offer will be honoured. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria at the time of suspension or cancellation, you are not eligible to receive the Offer. The Offer is only available to the recipient of this promotional email sent directly from Westpac. Forwarded invitations will not be honoured. The Offer is not available on any new transaction accounts opened during the Offer Period. The Offer is not available in conjunction with any other offer.

To be eligible for this Offer, if you make 15 “Eligible Purchases” and a “Deposit” of $500 within the “Offer Period”, you will receive a $100 cashback reward (“Offer”) if the Cashback rewards conditions (refer below) are met. Participants may redeem the Offer once during the “Offer Period”.

The “Offer Period” starts on Thursday 1 May and ends Saturday 31 May 2025 (inclusive).

“Eligible Purchases” are card-level transactions made using your Westpac Debit Mastercard ending in xxxx, in-store or online, in Australia. Exclusions include ATM withdrawals, cash out only transactions, cash equivalent transactions, gambling transactions or payments made with Gift Cards, through PayPal, delivery services (including, but not limited to, food and/or beverage delivery services), or transactions with Buy Now Pay Later providers. Cancelled purchases or refunds made during the Offer Period are also excluded.

Transactions must be cleared during the Offer Period to qualify as an Eligible Purchase. Pending transactions made during the Offer Period that are not cleared within the Offer Period will not be eligible. If your Westpac Debit Mastercard is linked to a joint account and the other joint account holder(s) also receive the Offer, you are all individually eligible for the Offer.

A “Deposit” may be made up of one or multiple deposits or your salary, amounting to a minimum of $500, made into your eligible Westpac transaction account linked to the Westpac Debit Mastercard described above. Interest amounts earned on interest-bearing transaction accounts, fund transfers made to your eligible account from a third party issued debit card, or uncleared deposits are not included in the $500 Deposit calculation.

Cashback reward: If you have met all the Offer criteria, you will receive your cashback reward, deposited into your Westpac transaction account, by 30 June 2025. The cashback reward will appear on your statement as “Cashback Reward”. The transaction account linked to your Westpac Debit Mastercard must remain open on 30 June 2025 to receive the cashback reward. If the account is closed prior to this date, you forfeit the right to claim the cashback reward. If you unsubscribe from receiving marketing offers from us during the Offer Period, you remain eligible to participate in the Offer, including being eligible to receive the cashback reward in your linked, eligible Westpac transaction account if all conditions of the Offer are met.

If your personal Westpac Debit Mastercard is linked to multiple transaction accounts, the following additional terms apply: (i) the only eligible accounts for the Offer are the Westpac Choice or Westpac 55+ and Retired accounts; (ii) Total Eligible Purchases will be calculated across all eligible transactions made to these accounts during the Offer Period; and (iii) We will deposit a Cashback reward into one eligible linked transaction account in accordance with these terms and conditions.

Conditions, fees, charges, eligibility criteria and exclusions apply. Standard product terms and conditions also apply.

~Our Westpac Fraud Money Back Guarantee ensures that you will be reimbursed for any unauthorised card transactions provided that you have not contributed to the loss and contacted Westpac promptly. Refer to your card’s conditions of use for full details, including when you will be liable.

  • Targetted?

    • I think it might be. I reported it

      • Do you usually touch this card? Or is it inactive mostly?

Targeted. I got "earn $50 cashback with 15 or more eligible purchases" offer. Mine's a debit card.

    • Yep targeted offers, also got the $50 cashback offer

    • Same here: "Bank $50 cashback with your Westpac Debit Mastercard"

No mention of a deposit, simply: "Just make 15 eligible purchases using your Westpac Debit Mastercard during the month of May. Don’t miss out, you have from 1 May until 31 May 2025 to qualify."

Time to do a bunch of 1 cents at supermarkets?

      • +3

Normally the bank will block your card after repetitive transactions within seconds, after 3rd transactions ? At least it was my experience.

        • +5

I always do different tiny amount, I think there is auto detection for duplicate if amounts the same. I.e my Woolies banana costs $0.90, paid as 0.10, 0.17, 0.24, 0.14, 0.25.
Do this over a few days and you're finished.

didn't have an issue doing 5x with AMP card

        • do this for my ING too 5x - no problems

        • Less likely to get blocked when using a mobile wallet on your phone.

Can just buy x15 $1 Amazon GCs? or would that not be eligible as a cash equivalent transaction…

    • +1

Theres mention of payments made with giftcards. What does that even mean? Isnt the offer to use the debit card why would that be mentioned?

    • +1

I'll buy the ShopBack cards with 100% back plus a few supermarket split transactions should be enough

  • +8

I got this. $100 for 15 transactions. No mention of $500 deposit.

        Try grapes for extra savings

    • Same got this as well

  • +2

Got this as well. Seems like 15 1c supermarket transactions should work right?

    • Hi what is 1 c supermarket transactions?

      • Select the split payment option at the self-checkout.

        • +1

and here I am stupidly scanning and checking out 1 mandarin at a time…

      • Split payments on your shop? Not sure if there is a limit to how many splits you can have at colesworth.

        • My record is 14. The receipt was around 1m long.

        • unlimit

  • +2

How can I tell if the deal is available to me if I have unsubscribed to email offers? I don't see it in the Rewards section of the Westpac app.

    • Same question, i never subscribed emails

    • Wondering the same :/

  • Mine didn't have the deposit requirement

    • Same

  • got this as well, no deposit requirement.

    • Same for me, only 15 transactions required to get the cashback.

  • +1

I don't understand why people feel the need to abuse the promo by putting in 15 x 1 cent transactions. Why not just put in your normal expenses, you know, coffee, take away, grocery items, public transport

So you don't miss out on credit card points! OzB 101

I was thinking of just topping up my opal card 15 times 5 dollars payments should be fine ahah

    • I’d be lucky to do 10 card transactions a month normally.

  • Do you have minimum spend for 15 transactional?

  • "fund transfers made to your eligible account from a third party issued debit card, or uncleared deposits are not included in the $500 Deposit calculation"

does this mean transferring money from another bank account does not count to the 500$ deposit?

    • Depositing money from any other bank account should be counted. I think this clause is for things like beemit where it credits funds directly from another debit card.

  • +1

I've been meaning to close my account. Luckily procrastination pays off.

    • +1

It always does, or you haven't waited long enough yet 😉

  • +3

Wow this is a good deal. I have a westpac account but don’t receive emails , can’t see the promo in the app anywhere.

OMG Westpac. Sure there is some fineprint wanting to trade in one of your kids?

  • Does anyone know if I can I just deposit $500 and then withdraw it?

  • Would the Beem trick work to make 15 "payments" to another account?

  • I did 11 $1 payments into my linkt account and then it got shut down. Moved on to aussie broadband but their minimum is $5 so I did four more there.
