Thanks, I've been holding off on this one too but stressed that I'm going to wait too long and be forced to pay RRP so I've pulled the trigger. That's one off the list, 999 to go :D

@sam buster: go for it mate, you wont regret - put the cash you save towards the 1989 batmobile, which is around $100 - that looks really good sitting on a shelf gatherring dust.
Bought a few AE sets over the years, usually because my kids would see ones they wanted and they were discontinued or still at Lego Ideas stage…
Can't say have been disappointed in any of them.
I got the big technic BMW motorcycle from Aliexpress and it was painful to construct. But for $30 vs $300 it's still worth it.
Interesting how they obviously got full rights to the design, but the word 'Delorean' appears nowhere on that page.
Kind of like how the Terminator TV show doesn't use the word Terminator.

real life deloreans have dmc on the grill which the lego model does
delorean is moulded into the rear bar so i guess they could have made a sticker for the rear bar but since it was moulded into the rear bar and was just black plastic then a sticker is going to do sfa

I can't believe I got this in a bulk 20kg lot for $20 recently. Only kids/teenagers can put a set like this broken up into big parts and some loose stuff in a big box (and who gives kids/teenagers a set like this?). Will rebuild later in the year after I finish the Technics/SWs/super heros.

Purchased this on the eve of Lego sets going up in price a few years ago. It's a fun build and have been meaning to buy it 2x more times so I can have all 3 versions on display (BTTF design, BTTF part 2 design and BTTF part 3 design) lol.

I built the 89 Batmobile during COVID lockdown…. I liked it so much (both the building process + the end result display piece) that instead of taking it apart to build it again… .I purchased another one shortly after one lockdown period (in Victoria boo hiss) ended so I could have two Batmobiles on display. Essentially $798 spent on 2 of the same item.
Very tempting, I've been wanting this for a long time, ~$240 is still a lot of money, think I'll try to convince myself I can't afford it.
Damn paid $270 from Lego back in 2022 and haven't built yet
now you can buy 2 more for less money and put them together for 2030 build
