A good price for 1000/50 with local backhaul unlike the other recent deals that route your web traffic to Sydney.

Returning customers, who have previously been with Superloop and already received a six (6) month discount promotion, will not be eligible for a new promotion for a period of twelve (12) months.

Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CG-NAT) and Static IP address.

Superloop use CG-NAT which works fine for most users. CG-NAT can break remote access to some home security cameras, some home automation products, Plex server, NAS, servers or if you want to host online P2P games. When you turn off CG-NAT you will be able to use remote access and host online P2P games again. Leave CG-NAT turned on if you don't do any of this.

If your home security cameras and automation products use a cloud server you will not be affected by CG-NAT.

You can get Carrier Grade NAT turned off for free if needed. Call up Superloop support or use the Superloop online chat on the Superloop website (red and black icon, bottom right).

$5/month is for a static IP address (this also turns off CG-NAT).

  • Can you still get the $95 offer with a friend referral code?

  • Can you switch to superloop from Origin Energy (wholesale superloop)? I assume not…

    • +1

      Yeah you can.

      • +1

Good to know. I'm still good at $65 a month until July from their own spectacular deal but if I ever see one closer to expiring.

  • +1

Im curious, why is this a better deal than Buddy ongoing for $99?

    • +2

      $24 saving

      • Only if you leave after 6 months I guess.

I always had poor international routing on Superloop from Brisbane, but it might be better elsewhere.

        • -2

          No issues in Melbourne…

    • +1

there is cashback on offer as well

  • +4

Set a reminder to cancel service at 5 months and move to other provider

    • -3

      Why?

      • +3

Probably cos there is a 30 day notice for cancellation. Otherwise if you cancel at month 6 you're still paying for month 7.

        • I meant why cancel?

          Everything is changing in September.

          • @jv: What's changing in September?

            • +3

              @Shaun Prawn:

Old Speed Tiers New Speed Tiers nbn Technology Type
              100/20 500/50 FTTP and HFC
              250/25 750/50 FTTP and HFC
              1000/50 1000/100 FTTP and HFC
              2000/100 HFC
              2000/200 FTTP
              2000/500 FTTP
              • @Twix: Oh nice.
Is this across the board for nbn?
                Or just this provider ?

                • @dealmaker: nbn is making all those speed tiers available. I reckon that most providers will have 500/750/1000 and only some providers will have 2000 ready from the start.

Do you already have FTTP or HFC?

                  • @Twix: FTTP
So that would translate into automatic upgrades to new tier?
                    I'm with AGL Internet

    • I'd be more inclined to cancel after day 1 when you realize their service is trash if you value latency.

      • Hi can you recommend an ISP with better latency than what Superloop offers? Other than Leaptel and Launtel please?

  • Their 250/100 plan for $85 is good value if you have an ABN…
It comes with a static IP included too…

After September when the new speeds come it, it's a different ball game…

    • +3

Note that 250/100 plan is only for FTTP

      • +1

250/100 is meant to be coming to HFC in Sept.

        • +1

I thought it was only 500/50, 750/50, 1000/100 and 2000/100 come September for HFC with FTTP getting both 2000/200 and 2000/500.

    • I cannot see it. I can only find it at 90/MTH for 6 months then it's up to 105

      • Superloop 250/100 $85/m deal has expired. $90/m for 6 months ($105/m ongoing) is still decent if you have an ABN.

        ISP Speed Price ABN Required?
        Leaptel 250/100 $110/m for 12 months ($120/m ongoing) No
Aussie BB 250/100 $139/m ongoing No
Launtel 250/100 $4.30 per day No
  • Whats considered a new customer? Never been a customer before, churn out churn in, not used them for 12 months etc.?

    • +1

Returning customers, who have previously been with Superloop and already received a six (6) month discount promotion, will not be eligible for a new promotion for a period of twelve (12) months.

    • Correct. They consider you a new customer after you've been away for 12 months.

      • +1

or if you switch from residential plans to business plans, then you are new.

  • +1

Outstanding RSP. Switched from Leaptel on Black Friday when Gigabit was $89/m for 12 months and haven't looked back.

  • noob question why static ip is a plus when ivp6 literally have infinite. We are not use ivp6?

    • -1

why static ip is a plus

      • Reliable Remote Access: If you're hosting a website, running a VPN, or managing remote devices, a static IP ensures a consistent connection without sudden changes that disrupt accessibility.
      • Improved Stability: Unlike dynamic IPs, which can change periodically, a static IP reduces the chances of network interruptions, especially for applications requiring a steady connection.
      • Better Security for Some Use Cases: While dynamic IPs can offer anonymity, static IPs allow businesses to implement stricter security measures like firewall rules or access control lists.
      • Easier Hosting: If you're running servers, a static IP simplifies domain mapping and email server configurations, reducing downtime and improving reliability.
      • Improved VoIP and Streaming Performance: Services like voice-over IP (VoIP) and live streaming perform better with a static IP because there’s less fluctuation in connectivity.
      • but dynamic does not change as much as you're are saying most RSP's are sticky now.

  • I'm on their 1000/50 and get nowhere near those download speeds. Not sure if my router needs an upgrade to be able to get those speeds tho - RT-AC68U

224/47 using speedtest app on my phone just now

    • +2

224/47 using speedtest app on my phone

Sounds more like a wifi issue/limitation.

    • RT-AC68U can struggle with Gigabit. Get a new Asus router.

    • +2

definitely a router i say, i had an eero 6 plus quite far from the gateway eero and speeds were 300mbps, moved it closer and got 800mbps

    • The only way to get an accurate result is via ethernet. If that's fine, then it's a hardware or environmental issue.

  • -1

Superloop grinds to a halt during peak hours on my POI. Best avoided.

    • +1

All good here. How long ago was this?

    • +3

I've had zero issues during peak…

      • -1

Different use case and different POI. I did specifically say "on my POI". I guess details like that are lost on you so you can get your +1

        • Best avoided.

This deal is not exclusive to your POI though…

          Maybe consider moving house…

        • +2

It might help stating your POI instead of making a blanket statement.

      • Same here, never had a problem, day or night.

    • had 900mbps at 8pm last night

      • Bandwidth was never the issue. latency and jitter was.

        • yeah im new on superloop, so far steady

    • feel free to hit me up at work - [email protected]

  • can anyone comment on superloop vs aussie broadband? I've been with aussie for a few years now but no discounts to existing customers, may look to switch

    • +1

I switched and have no problems. Same speeds and low latency.

      • +1

Same here. I've used ABB and Leaptel. No difference.

    • +1

I switched couple of years ago no issues, much cheaper and it's pretty much the same and in same cases its been better (lower latency to some servers when gaming for some reason)

  • .
in September what will the new speeds be for existing plans ….I'm on 50/20
    .
they are offering a free eero 6 upgrade but no mention of the September speeds, I tried to email support but it can't be done !?? even in the app

    • +1

50/20 is not getting a speed increase.

Old Speed Tiers New Speed Tiers nbn Technology Type
      100/20 500/50 FTTP and HFC
      250/25 750/50 FTTP and HFC
      1000/50 1000/100 FTTP and HFC
      2000/100 HFC
      2000/200 FTTP
      2000/500 FTTP
  • How about existing customers? I'm currently paying $99.99 per month

  • i see topcashback has dropped their cashback

  • Top cash shows $70.00 cash back for the 100/20 speed when I enter Superloop in their search.

  • Speaking of Superloop, was going to cancel however was given the option to get a $10 bill credit for 12 months on either the 250/50 or 1000/50 plan. Gladly took it.

    • i guess you have to ring them to cancel and then they offer the discount?

  • Got 1000/20 for $89 by threatening to leave but I'm switching away anyway now because FTP download speeds to OS servers have been absolutely atrocious since the start of the year.
