Are these good for laminate flooring?
And not to be paranoid: for privacy do these use camera or some other method for navigation?

No camera. LIDAR as well as various IR sensors.

Nice to see prices falling on these. Wasn't that long ago that a standalone Lublulu (sp?) for ~$300 was considered a good deal.

  • Is this better than the Lubluelu SL60 Pro?

    • +2

They seem to be similar, the SL60 has a 'mop' feature while this seems to be vacuuming only.
This one also seems to only have one spinning brush thing while the SL60 has two (at least the SL60D does - I get confused with all the names)

      • Single brush units can flick things across the room instead of into the vac part I've found.

“Mop” on the lublue is next to useless.

    No Mop?

Might need to look pretty hard to find one on there

Eufy robovacs work surpisingly well and are great value when on sale. Only downside is that 2 or 3 years down the track they stop producing parts for them and you're left either having to upgrade ($$$), buying non-genuine replacements (hit and miss most times and cause issues with machine operating), or continue to use it with worn brushes and rollers, old filters, or a battery that barely lasts.

I have it for about 6 months now, have it on upstairs bedrooms with carpet only, it's ok not that great.
    My grievances are
    1. The unit is pretty light and small so on my carpet it "skids" when it goes on a straighline. Seems as if it vacs on a up and down wavy pattern, so may miss some % of the carpet between those "waves". My older "Dreame" doesn't skid at all.
    2. Nav is a little dumb, got stuck often.
    3. Battery is a bit low, can't complete 80m2 on high suction before needing recharge. And when start charging, it will "forget" the task wasn't completed. To compensate for this, I schedule it to work more often, 3 times a week now.

I suppose for the price it's ok. If you can find Dreame with SES I'm happy to pay up to $100 more for better performance.

  • Return rate are high on eufy. You get what you pay for.

  • Any good for wooden floors?

    • I wouldn't use a $349 unit on my hardwood floors. Go a Roborock qrevo master.

      • Why so? Scratches?? *Using the qrevo S right now but want a second unit

  • I've been looking at this one as my wife sheds a lot of long hair, and I like the look of the hair cutting blade on the base station. I just know if I get a robovac that doesn't have something like this, the hair is just going to get tangled. Anyone have any reports of the hair cutting blade on this one or an alternative that offers something similar?

    • Hair cutting base feature is only on the L60 SES, not this one.
