I know its expensive and Ngreedia but a deal is a deal. Cheapest place to get the 5070ti and at least this one has 16gb vram. Cheapest Amd alternative will be asrock dark steel legend 9070 xt $1249@ scorptec.

When the super variant comes out, no doubt will have bigger drops. This is for the peeps who want to buy now.
$1250 is a reasonable price really, $1300 is what this should have launched at.
I find it surprising that both 9070 xt and 9070 is nowhere to be seen in Apr steam hardware survey. Perhaps on may. 5000 series made the list though.
Because most people aren't building their own PCs and are just buying prebuilts and Nvidia has really cornered that market.
I was more surprised that the 5080 is out selling the 70ti. That card makes no sense even at rrp, let alone current prices. 15% difference in performance is not worth an extra $800 🤣 a 5070 ti can easilt get a 12% boost too so its very close to a stock 5080 once overclocked. If the 80 had 24gb then maybe i could see the argument for that, but its same lol
Most people dont buy GPUs to brag online that they are supporting 'the little guy', following reddit too much might give you that impression though.
"Bargain"
Who doesn’t love an overpriced bargain. :P
Does it help that it comes with doom the ages premium edition? Thats $169 on its own lol. OP should probably mention that, any nvidia card from the 5070 and up comes bundled with it. At least until the 22nd of may , makes it a decent buy imo. These also get very close to a 5080 once overclocked, flash the game rock 320 watt bios on it. Easy peasy, it has dual bios so its not hard or risky to do
Just a heads up. According to the description this looks like the newer V1 model which uses a copper plate instead of the vapour chamber that the original model has.
is that a good thing or a bad thing
More of a bad thing because a copper plate won't be able to cool the GPU as effectively as a vapour chamber would.
Apparently the difference is minor…it has 8 heat pipes vs the 4 on a msi ventus and 3 on the shadow model. Its still better than those cards lol. The cooler etc. Is still the same size. Ive ordered one, ill test it on Wednesday and make a few benchmark videos with temps and fan speed etc. For anyone interested
Does this come with an adaptor for the old power supplies?
Yes.
Source: I bought this card from the same seller.
5070 and 5080 super been worked on already by board partners according to latest MLID video on youtube.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrLgahCIgtk
of course take with a grain of salt etc
It's just ram upgrades, so the 5070 super will have 18gb but same performance. Id rather have the bettee performance with 16gb lol. Don't forget these also come bundled with the new doom game, and its the premium edition which is $169 ( $142 on greenman ) so if someone was going to buy that game anyway this makes it decent value imo. I ordered one, i wouldn't have without the bundle lol doom looks awesome 👏
Paid $1600 for a 3080 during covid, never again Nvida! NEVER!!!
You should probably mention it comes with doom : the dark ages premium edition…that alone costs $169. Can be redeemed on steam. So that makes the value quite good imo if you're interested in that game. I ordered one yesterday lol had constant crashes with my 9070 xt, scorptec wouldn't give me a full refund ( 15% restocking fee, hope no one buys that card lol, it was only stable in games with the powee limit reduced to minus 10% ) id avoid an xfx 9070xt mercury oc from scorptec
It could have been your setup though, my 9070xt crashed about 20 times in the first week, until I cleaned up a few things. Even with a DDU initial driver installation.
Somehow I ended up with an "unknown" in device manager for a chipset driver, so I fixed that + MOBO bios update + force pcie4.0 in bios. It was syncing at pcie5.0 even though my motherboard is only 4.0.
After this, it hasn't crashed once in over month even with a -100uv, +10% PL (374w), 2814 fast timing vram.
I've finished 4 AAA games and ran countless benchmarks all without a single crash.
No issues show up in my device manager, i did sfc /scannow…no corruption. Windows memory diagnostic showed no errors. I did occt tests on ram and cpu, all good. But just in case i reset to stock default settings on mobo, no difference. I did 3 fresh installs of windows. The only thing that made the card stable was if i reduced the power limit down minus 10% on the power slider. Which reduced the card down to 304 watts. At its stock 340 watt it was unstable in 10 of the 12 games i tested. Was worsened with power slider set to its maximum 374 watts. So thats when i thougth my rm750x psu was struggling ( even though my overclocked 3080 was completely stable at 370 watts )… i went and bought a brand new nzxt c1000 atx 3.1 psu. Still crashing. I reseated my ram, new power supply. Still crashing unless i reduced the power, why would it be stable at a lower power limit if it was another problem with the pc? Once again, works perfectly with my 3080 which uses even more power lol. B650 aorus pro mobo, 9800x3d, 32gb g.skill 6000 mhz cl30 ( also tested at default timings ) i just cant see any possible reason other than a defect.

First video is -10 on power limit, second is completely stock and third is +10% on power. As you can see it passes -10, crashes later on with stock and crashes much faster with +10% . Its related to power somehow, it was fine in 3d benchmarks like steel nomad, and 3d benchmarks is all that scorptec did to test the card ! Which is frustrating, seemed to happen when power was fluctuating in games. Cyberpunk and gta were the only games that didnt crash at stock and max power, but both of those games were pretty solid with powee pushed to the limit most of the time. Weird
Dang. What sort of crashing were you getting, I had driver timeouts, black screen/full lock ups requiring forced power down, and sometimes restarts.
Is your b650 aorus pcie5.0? If it's a 4.0 then I bet it was also synching at 5.0, this issue has been fine for some people, but also lots of guys (me included) who fixed it by forcing 4.0 in bios.
Either way, sounds like you did as much as you can and good idea to return while you still could, shame about that 15% restocking fee, that sucks!
@Grish: No its pcie 4.0. It was set to auto so there should be no isssues. The only issue ive heard regarding using pcie 4.0 is too do with rise cables, but mine was installed right into the pcie slot on the board. Id be shocked if having it set to auto was the cause, i was also on the latest bios for my board which came out late march and it says enhanced pcie compatibility on the notes on gigabytes website….so i doubt that was anything to do with it. Plus the card was stable when power limited below stock settings ( 304 watts down from 340 watt ) so i can't see that being the reason. Also each power cable was seperate, no pigtails lol. I thought that might have been the cause when i was running my rm750x psu, but with the 1000 watt psu i used 3 8 pin cables and it made no difference lol. Still only stable with a power reduction, my 3080 has no trouble pushing 370 watt even with my old 750 watt psu. I wonder if pcie being set on auto could effect power stability? That would be pretty stupid if that was the reason, I'll find out when i get my 5070 ti on Wednesday/ Thursday lol. I'm very confident i won't have the same problem
@S1nn3r86: Actually, it's very well documented and reported that almost all b650's that are only PCiE4.0 are syncing at pcie5 with the pcie5 cards ie. rx9070xt and also NVIDIA cards.
As I mentioned, it's not causing issues for some people, but others have had lots of issues that all go away when setting it to pcie4 in bios (instead of auto, which seems to be what allows the GPU to force it into pcie5 bandwidth, 32gt/s vs 16gt/s).
Some of the PCiE4.0 boards have even had bios updates that "officially" supports 5.0 in bios.
Not saying it's absolutely what happened to you, but it's definitely one of dozens of system configurations that can lead to instability issues.
@Grish: But why would it be stable when power limited ? I dont see why power would affect stability regardless of what pcie was being selected in the bios ? Its a shame i can't test it set as pcie 4.0 so ill never know now, but that seems unlikely since it ran completely stable at 304 watts, incressing the powee to stock was unstable and its max 374 watt setting was even more unstable so its power related, just not sure pcie would affect that at all ? I've never heard of that being a problem lol
@Grish: My 5070 ti should arrive on Wednesday so ill test it on auto and I'll check in gpu-z what pcie its reading as. Ill also be flashing a 350 watt bios on it so ill test it with similar power to the 9070 xt i had. I'm extremely confident i won't have the same issues lol but ill report back either way after I've tested it
@S1nn3r86: If your motherboard behaves like the aorus elite, the 5070ti will also force it into pcie5.0 (which again, might be fine and never cause any problems for your setup).
Just for completeness, here is a Reddit if anyone's interested in reading a bit more about it. There's a guy here showing his 5070ti doing it too (pcie4 running/forced into pcie5):
https://www.reddit.com/r/MSI_Gaming/s/v12gDsUKpy
It shows various proof using 3dmark PCI bandwidth tests etc..
But here's also an "official" response from MSI when asked about it (quoted from the above Reddit):
"Thanks for contacting MSI technical support.
Regarding your concern, in theory, the PCIe and M.2 slot's speed of this motherboard is PCIe 4.0, this is hardware design. If the devices can work at 5.0 speed, please also pay attention to their stability, we cannot guarantee the stability of 5.0 speed. If it is unstable, please adjust the speed to 4.0 in bios.
Thanks for your cooperation in advance!
Best Regards,
MSI Technical Support Team"
@Grish: Interesting, but i still don't see why lowering the power of the gpu would make it stable if it was pcie instability….also something very interesting, i turned it off auto and it actually gives me an option to select gen 5….which is strange because I'm 90% sure its supposed to be limited to pcie 4.0. I'll check it when the new card arrives lol
@Grish: Am i reading this wrong ?
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B650-AORUS-PRO-AX-rev-1…
"Design Ready for PCI Express 5.0
1PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 & 2 PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 with M.2 Thermal Guard III & II
1PCIe 4.0 x16 with Ultra Durable™ Armor
1PCIe 4.0 x4 & 1*PCIe 4.0 x1"
So is my mobo actually pcie 5.0 after all ?
I'm in the bios now, under PCIEX16 slot link speed i can choose up too gen 5, PCIEX4 and PCIEX1 slot links only go up to Gen 4,
And the last PCie slot link speed goes up go gen 5 ? I'm a little confused now, i always thought my board was pcie 4.0
Edit: OK maybe I read it wrong, its says pcie 4.0 x 16 ultra durable armour, i would assume that is the pcie slot for the gpu, but then why can I select gen 5 in the bios for pciex16 slot link speed ?
I've never had to change this off auto before so I'm stumped with this one
@S1nn3r86: Yeah it seems a lot of the GB b650 boards are getting "free" upgrades to PCIE5.0.
Your board, given its apparently an 8 layer PCB means it's likely more than fine to run at 5.0
GB were a bit sneaky with the aorus elite though, where the rev1.x boards are 8-Layers but the v2 are cut back to 6 layers.
My tomahawk is 6 layers too, which might have something to do with it.
Hope your 5070ti is rock solid! Let us know (maybe on whirlpool if you use that forum).
Btw, some people do have problems running at 5.0 on a 4.0 board, one guy would get black screens during boot up until he locked it into 4.0, then it worked fine. In my case, I made so many changes (fixing various errors in event log, device manager, chipset driver versions, power cables etc etc) so I can't be 100% which change fixed my card. Now it just refuses to crash, no matter what I do!
@Grish: I had no issues with booting up at all, card run with no issues when it was power limited. People with the same board as me are having no issues at all running at 5.0. Scorptec arent replying to me anymore, they only tested with 3d mark benchmarks which all passed for me also lol. I think the card was unstable due to power fluctuating in games because it was stable for over 20 minutes in with its max 374 watts and in that game it was sitting right at the power likit pretty much the whole time, but other games i tested had the power fluctuating. Very strange, i emailed ane asked them to actually test a game lol. That was 4 days and no response. I feel sorry for the person who buys that card from scorptec. On the bright side, my 5070 ti should arrive on Wednesday apparently 😀 ill be flashing a 400 watt bios onto it just for fun to see how far it can be pushed…plus i want to prove that my system is 100% stable 🤣
@Grish: https://www.reddit.com/r/radeon/s/ym4KStcPju
Been doing some reading, bios ess recently updated to enable gen 5. So set to auto it would very likely hae been using pcie 5.0. No on else is having stability troubles, im 99.9% my card was defective, wish my 5070 ti could come sooner so i can prove it to scorptec lol bastards
It definitely does? Can't find anything on their listing description so just making sure.
Yep 100% i messaged the seller before purchasing it to make sure lol. Once its installed you go to the palit website ( theres a direct link to it ) and you put the serial number in etc. And then you get a code thats for steam. Pretty much the same process to when i got my old 7800x3d cpu with starfield
Thanks 😀
And thanks for the links too, just purchased it.
My build is just waiting on the graphics card choice. No high end competitor to NVIDIA is so bad, what are AMD and Intel doing. I'm giving it another 2 months it seems there is only a shortage on the 5090 now.
Crap I just got a 5070 non to for about 1k
Looks are quite subjective but there's no way the designers at Palit thought this was acceptable. Can't they just do something similar to founders edition.
I'm not supporting this garbage
Is doom included with this?
Not much of an upgrade over my 3080 ti
Look at you Mr 2021… Flexing them muscles!! Keep enjoying!
It's barely enough for flight sim
Doubt that's the GPU tho…lol
Any deals on 2 fan GPUs? 3 fan won't fit my ITX case
Honestly the only ozb option is to buy used mining cards
starting to remind me of last year when 4070 ti super released and "crashed" from ~1600 to ~1200 within ~2 months. it'd be a pretty good deal then.
