  • I'm curious as to what the difference between this link is (modified by hamza23):

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0C3QDMCQL

to this link (modified by WookieMonster):

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0C3QDMCQL?smid=ANEGB3WVEVKZB

They both link to the same product, and the original link doesn't seem to contain any affiliated links, just curious as to why the change?

    • I'm also curious. I believe the last part of the link is the store (in this case Amazon AU).

It makes sense when there are multiple stores or if the store isn't Amazon AU, but there are also Amazon deals where mods don't change the URL.

      • Affiliation link for OzB?

I made the change, because Amazon AU will not send this item (which is sold and shipped by them) to a lot of postcodes in Australia (i.e. this issue).

If you set your postcodes to one of these postcodes:

      • If you click the first link in your comment, you will only see the following message: Temporarily out of stock. We are working hard to be back in stock as soon as possible. This message is the same as the one you see for a product that is actually out of stock, which will make people think the product is out of stock (and then potentially submit reports to moderators to mark this deal as out of stock, even though it is not actually out of stock).

      • If you click the second link in your comment, you will see the following message: This item cannot be shipped to your selected delivery location. Please choose a different delivery location.

(The above does not work at the moment, because the product is actually out of stock, but you can test this on other Amazon AU listings, such as this one.)

?smid=ANEGB3WVEVKZB is where I force the Amazon AU website to show the Amazon AU listing (as smid is used to specify the Amazon AU seller, which means other sellers on Amazon AU - e.g. Amazon UK, AnkerDirect - have their own smid). For the listing in this deal, it shows the correct error message. For some other listings, it will not show the error message, but when you go to the checkout, you will see the error message.

That makes sense thank you for the clarification. ☺️
