Microsoft Surface Pro 11: X Plus, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD $1647 + Delivery ($0 to Metro Areas/ OnePass/ C&C/ In-Store) @ Officeworks

90

Most retailers are currently selling this model at 20% off RRP, i.e. $1748.

Yesterday, Officeworks just reduced the discounted price an additional $101.

Was tossing up between this model versus the X elite processor with OLED screen, which is currently going for an extra $500 or so. From my research, it appears there's only marginal performance increases with the X elite. The OLED screen has been reported to have a 'screen door' effect and I can confirm this is visible when I tested it at the store. It might not bother some people but it was enough for me especially since I would like to use this device more as a tablet with its reported battery life compared to older generations.

Screen door look from the touch layer? That's depressing to read in 2025.

Pay so much for Intel/AMD x86/x64 emulation: only a problem (where no ARM64 support) for third-party drivers of external hardware, and software (exotic utilities, file-systems and the like, DRM, anti-cheat, etc).

I've been using surface laptop 7 for last 9 months. I've been quite disappointed so far… Many things don't work well and even 9 months in I have random blue screens.
    Ive had a surface 3,4,5..
I can look pass the compatibility.. but the battery life is not much better than the 5.. that's quite disappointing.

The keyboard paint came come off on my unit… I've been dealing with online and store support for 2 months.. I've mailed my laptop in for 2 weeks now… They don't even respond to me…. Very poor support on these devices… No Microsoft online of store staff knows what to do about it.

    • To be fair, it's called "Surface," not "Service."

  • I've got the Lenovo ideated with the plus processor for a month and so and if you ar looking for long battery life, general surfing, word processing, light photo editing then these laptops are great. If you are looking to game then they ar ent for you but this is well known and gamers will not be looking for these.

The purpose these laptops are designed for serve that purpose well.

Having said that , here is all the games that someone has tried and some to work for the Snapdragon X plus processor.

  • My mother used to have an i5/16/256 that was stolen. She loves the portability of the surface.
If not this deal, what alternative laptops would you guys recommend? She's only using it for office work and to stream movies sometimes.

I got the OLED version as a ipad pro alternative and pretty happy with it. I got it for abliut 50% of FB marketplace and for theat price it is a good deal. Defintely would not pay RRP. It does have a visible touch screen overlay with the OLED screen. Battery life is ok but not at ipad or M series macbook level (it has no efficiency cores so can be as good) but even with some limitation of windows on ARM the app capability is just so much better than the crippled Ipad. I can finally save files how i want, have a clipboard manager and other basic functionality missing on the Ipad
