    Sneakers $80 (RRP $200)

    Normal price though is $90-$99not $200

    So basically, save $10.

    Displaying a price comparison to a price you have not recently been selling it for, is deemed by the ACCC as a false and misleading price comparison.

    • +3

      $90-99 is not the normal price. All those shops you listed are also selling the item on sale. All retailers would have initially been selling the shoes for $200.

      Displaying a price comparison to a price you have not recently been selling it for, is deemed by the ACCC as a false and misleading price comparison.

      Do you have any proof that Incu weren't selling the shoes for $200 previously?

      • -1

        $90-99 is not the normal price

        yes it is… I posted the first 3 links that showed up on google.

        • +1

          All those shops would have originally been selling them for RRP.

          Jordan 1 Lows do not just go on sale for 50%+ off straight away.

            @beltdrive:

            All those shops would have originally been selling them for RRP

            That is irrelevant… Read up on the ACCC advertising laws…

            • +2

              @jv: So, let me get this straight.

              Four retailers sell the same product at RRP.

              Three of the four retailers list the item for sale
              At a later time, the fourth retail store also then lists the item for sale

              You believe the fourth retailer can't the item as being x% off RRP, because the other three beat them to it?

              • -1

                @beltdrive:

                You believe the fourth item can't list a sale as being x% off RRP

                I told you what the ACCC says about deceptive and misleading price comparisons…

                Read up on it…

                • @jv: Here's what the ACCC says

                  A business shouldn’t mislead customers about savings on products or services.

                  For example, a business may advertise a sale by using statements such as 'WAS $275 NOW $149'. This implies the buyer will save the difference between the higher and lower price.

                  The advertised savings may be misleading or deceptive if the product or service:

                  has never been sold at the higher price, or
                  was sold in a limited amount at the higher price immediately before the sale

                  Incu previously sold the item for the RRP of $200, so this sale is not misleading.

                  • -1

                    @beltdrive:

                    Ways that a displayed price can be misleading
                    Stating the sale price is marked down from an earlier price when:
                    the items were not sold at that price for a reasonable period right before the sale started

                    Whether or not Incu previously sold the item for the RRP of $200 in the past is irrelevant…

                    • @jv: do you have proof Incu didn't sell the item for RRP "for a reasonable period right before the sale started"?

                      because you are the one making an accusation, the burden of proof is on you

                      • -1

                        @beltdrive:

                        do you have proof Incu didn't sell the item for RRP

                        I don't need proof. I never said they didn't. Do you have proof they were selling them for $200 last week?

                        Other stores have been selling them at the cheaper range for a least a couple of months now.

                        • @jv:

                          I don't need proof.

                          yes you do. otherwise you have no basis for your accusation.

                            you have no basis for your accusation.

                            What accusation?

                            • @jv: "Displaying a price comparison to a price you have not recently been selling it for, is deemed by the ACCC as a false and misleading price comparison."

                              • -1

                                @beltdrive: That is a fact, not an accusation… 🤣

                                • @jv: It's a fact that Incu weren't selling the item for RRP recently?

                                  • @beltdrive:

                                    It's a fact that Incu weren't selling the item for RRP recently?

                                    Are you claiming that?

                                    What I said was that other stores are selling them for half the RRP. That is now the normal price. They have been that price for months now.

                                    • @jv: It's unreasonable to expect a retailer to keep track of their competitors' sales, and advertise their own sales accordingly

                                      This is what you quoted from the ACCC

                                        My post is as per the OzBargain deal posting rules.

                                        regardless, was this business selling them for $200 last week and ripping people off???

                                            @beltdrive: It's like he's never heard of sales. People post the exact same crap from Colesworth every second week when it's on sale. Easy to scroll past (but isn't easy for some special people).

                                            These type of deals aren't new and shoes are always on sale. If he paid $200 then should lose his Ozbargain license.

                                            Anyone interested in an item would normally know what a good price is but I can guarantee he has no interest in them or most things posted and just enjoys acting like a bell end.

      Ha there is a reason I blocked JVs comments, no idea and just a shit stirrer.

      RRP on J1 lows is around $150-200, depends on the colour and edition etc. Of course everything can be had for cheaper, only buy when on sale.

      Footlocker has them for $99 (RRP $200 as well)

        It's not working

        Footlocker has them for $99

        They've been in the price range for at least a couple of months.

          Occasionally I have a look when I want a giggle at how you keep embarrassing yourself.

          You're trying to be clever bolding words but just bored and creating arguments.

          Either way the price is a sale price not normal price. RRP would be the normal price.

            Doubt it, they've been half price for months.
