Good Quality Hand Mixer That Is Powerful and Long Lasting

Hi,

First post ever. Please be kind :) Looking for a good quality hand mixer that won't break the bank. Had a Breville LHM200 Mix & Store Hand Mixer, but we've gone through 3 replacements under 5 months (all under warranty). Frustrating. Just want something that is powerful and works. Preferably under $100, but can stretch if needed. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Breville have gone downhill with their quality. We refuse to buy any more of their products due to constant break downs.

We've got the VEVOR Commercial Immersion Blender 350W Heavy Duty Hand Mixer. Price starts at $150

Not sure if this is the type of hand mixer you're after but this is a beast - mixes anything you throw at it
We've got it and love it - it is however MASSIVE and heavy, so if you're after something small and light give it a miss

    • The Vevor looks huge! It's like the guy is paddling through a sea of soup. Though that's probably the largest model.

What are the attachments it comes with? Some of them I can't work out.

Breville is still the one of the best of the bad bunch.

Sunbeam has always been good but also gone downhill.

Maybe just buy a cheap hand mixer and throw it away when its dead.
Just make sure its powerful enough as underpowered ones will die quicker

  • What exactly are you mixing?

      Hands

      • Probably need a mincer.

      • Try a hand shredder.

  • I've had a Breville hand mixer for about 8-9 years (looks to be the older version of Mix and Store). I remember i paid $15 for it from a garage sale nearby. Use it a couple of times a week

  • No clue on the price, but I bought a nutribullet hand mixer a few years ago and it hasn't broken. Somewhere out there my grandmother's barmix is probably still going strong, so finding one of those still working in a garage sale or 2nd hand store might also be an option.

  • I have a vintage Braun multimix still running strong after 3+ decades.. whilst a family member has the cheapest Kenwood one..

If you mostly use it for whipping / aerating (cream, or butter & sugar) the Braun has thinner whisks which seem to whip cream much faster and at lower speed than the Kenwood with its thicker whisks… but the Kenwood seems to actually be available whereas I can't find anywhere selling the current Braun MultiMix 5.

  • We have a Sunbeam one that about 7-8 years old now.

Once upon a time a hand mixer was a wooden spoon or a whisk.

    • Yep.

And people washed clothes in the river
      .

      • We still had bamixes, just never knew they were called hand mixers. Think we referred to the generic type ones as stick mixers, maybe?

No need for you to be an ass about it.

We have a Kenwood Quick mix. Been using it for a few years now. It’s quite good. Currently under $90 on Amazon.

    • Same here. When comparing the different brands, the wattage (650) was higher for the price $129 at TGG today, c.f. Smeg (250W), Sunbeam $59 (235W), KitchenAid (85W) $209. More generally, I find this to be the case with most Kenwood appliances.

  • I reckon just go to K-Mart and buy the cheapest one there. Replacing that regularly will be cheaper than something expensive. And you may be lucky and have it last for ages.

That's a stand mixer, not a hand mixer.
