I swear price drops are terrible at the moment. Sub $40 was the normal deal for this oil.

I'm also waiting on TurtleWax Hybrid Ceramic Spray to go sub $30 like it used to multiple times a year, Repco is currently selling for $60 which is crazy..

    • Motor oil prices have certainly gone up. Anyone know why?

Good shout. Didn't know Amazon had oil deals

  • In case it matters to you, this is API SL spec. More modern oils are now API SP spec.

Its strange how supercheaps site is telling me it doesnt fit some of my cars….. lol

I mean come on 5w-30 suits almost every newish car

    • API SL oil grade was introduced in 2001 long before particulate filters were a thing. Horses for courses

  • 99 dollars for a 4L bucket regularly?

  • Wow, I know this is aimed at euros but surprised this is only API SL. That's a really old spec for an oil that I'm sure is better than this.

  • Just read that the API SP spec was published in 2020. All my cars are over 10 years old and I’ve been using this oil pretty much every time.
$47 is a bit steep for an oil that hasn’t been tested to the new standard though. I guess Castrol can rely on their brand name over testing to new specs.

yeh SN was introduced in 2010, and SL in 2001, SM in 2004. Doesn't mean this oil is bad, its just crazy that it doesnt have a higher spec than SL which is now almost 25 years old!

They've already announced SQ so even SP is being superceded. It's probably why this oil is on sale.
