    was $39

must have been sitting there for a while, as it looks like it lists for $20.52 on their website lol

$9 good price but assuming buyer is handy with a cheeky diy

    • +6

      Twin pack vs single.

Regardless, reading the reviews I wouldn't touch this.

      • +5

        Fair play then!

$9 for two even better haha

Bought this a week ago, worked for few days and now the power is still on even on turning the switch off. Very poor quality.

        Seems legit haha

        • +3

Agree that the quality does appear poor, although I do wonder about the review you've quoted, it is possible that user is talking about the USB ports not turning off with the switch. Of course, I might be wrong, but user error, or a misunderstanding of the features, happens more often than you may think.

          • +1

@A 1: Yeah the buyer doesnt understand usb points are always on.

          • +8

@A 1: I have 4 of these installed in the house.
On one of them, the USB charging ports have stopped working.
On another one, the switch for the 240v power outlet stopped working, so it is always on.

            • +1

@athuntershill: In that case, quite a critical fault, agree it seems very poor quality.

Pocketable as a $9 fidget spinner

  • -1

Showing as $20.52 online at my local store. Will Bunnings price match their other stores' clearance items?

    • +1

No, this has been covered many times 👍

  • +17

It's generally a bad idea to put hot electronics into a wall cavity, where they can't be easily replaced when it stops working (which it will)

    • +1

Can't easily be replaced? Please. Yes, I know what the comments will be. However, this does look like complete rubbish based on the Bunnings reviews.

    • +1

Well I am sure those who would buy these will just easily replace them.

    • +4

No different to any others like fan controllers, dimmer switches and wifi switches really

      • +3

It is, because those don't evolve much over time, whereas USB constantly is. Witness the high wattage laptop usb-c output bricks, for example.

Plenty of these double GPOs from this store will be going out the door for free. :)

    • +1

So you're the Bunnings Nerang thief 🎒🫥

      • +1

        Five finger discount

        • +2

Is that a 2 pack dual gpo with usb in your pocket?

  • +5

    Reviews say no, dodgy as…

    • +17

You wouldn't buy this PowerPoint with a review of 3.1 stars

Yet you use Ozbargain with a review of 2.5 stars

      • +10

I'm not paying $9 to use Ozbargain

        • +6

Wait what there’s a free version of OzBargain?

          • +1

@2025: No but I can sort you out mates rates, you just gotta pay with gift cards 🤣

      • 2.5 is pretty good compared to the 1.6 stars on trust pilot.

    • -5

Neg for your sparky ignorant judgement.

      • -4

That's fair. I like China anyway.

    Read the reviews at https://www.bunnings.com.au/cordtech-3-6a-usb-a-and-usb-c-tw…?

Bunnings doing a disservice to their customers by pricing down rather than returning to the supplier

  • +2

Can’t agree more with the above negs. Whilst technically a deal the safety concerns raised in all the reviews - mounting issues and risk of shorts through wires being too close together - mean a firm No.

Don’t take this crap from Bunnings.

Even with safety aside, these switches feel cheap. When it comes to stuff like power points and light switches do yourself a favour and go to a wholesaler and get the good stuff. It's not that much more expensive and you'll have items that last for years and feel better quality to use.

    • +5

Yeah, at least shell out for DETA if it absolutely has to come out of the big green shed

      • +3

people complain about DETA but I've had no issues with the few things I've purchased, especially power points, they all felt solid, if at the expense of the switch being firmer

        • They do an inline switch which was honestly a piece of crap to fit off for the 5 I had to use, but their traditional design weatherproof gpo have been fine.

      • +1

I purchased few DETA WiFi enabled smart PIR motion sensor switch for my outdoor lights and the senor compartment and other parts of the units were flooded with water and did not even drain out. Once flooded it kept the light permanently on and the sensor units were very hot likely due to short circuits despite the water proof IP ratings on the unit

I had to replace all of them. Bunnings stopped selling this proberbly due to fire risk

        https://www.workshop.bunnings.com.au/t5/Whole-of-House/Deta-…

Do not buy anything that has not been tried and tested even if it came from a Premium expensive brand such as DETA

        • Premium expensive brand such as DETA

Is that sarcasm? If not, maybe it should be?

Interesting that people seem to accept the unreliable operation, and “reboot to fix” on a hardwired device like that. That should not be tolerated, but I’m glad to see that they’re not sold anymore.

        • Shame, I could actually use a wifi enabled smart pir sensor (kinda prefer it to be a microwave sensor though)

  • I don't know if it was the same manufacturer, but I had a few similar, and similarly cheap, sockets. One's still in use because it's in a place where it rarely gets switched, but the other two had failed switches within months. False economy, even without the safety risks.

FWIW we've used these double GPOs off amazon at home now for just under 2 years, with no issues so far. They have in-built 2 x USB-A and 1 x USB-C.

  • Fwiw i have had these installed 5 years ago. Different brand on ebay but look exactly the same, no issues

  • Been trying to find something similar for the bathroom. Shavers/toothbrush both USB chargeable. But haven't seen a single one that comes with a light button.
