This company is part of Siemens. They used to brand the phones as Siemens and Gigaset was their land line phones - the cordless ones I think.

I had a few Siemens mobiles in the early 2000's: SL45, S55 and S65. Also had a Xelibri 4. Xelibri was a Siemens sub-brand of quirky phones which some companies did back then.

  • For those interested here is a review. seems decent for a rugged phone by the looks of things, personally still a bit expensive for my applications

  • Looks like the screen will crack as soon as you drop it.

Now this is a rugged phone: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKlIZTmmmng

    • The Gigaset rugged phones use Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5. I do believe these phones have a lot of boxes ticked.

  • $800 for a phone with a low end chip like that is criminal. Couldn't even put something mid range in it lol.

I totally get where you're coming from—specs like chipsets can be a major consideration. But Gigaset phones, especially the GX4 Pro and GX6 Pro, are built with a different focus. These aren't just consumer phones—they're enterprise-grade, German-made devices designed for durability, reliability, and performance in extreme conditions. That includes features like IP68 protection, replaceable batteries, and military-grade ruggedness etc. In environments where failure isn't an option, these devices are worth every dollar. It’s not just about raw specs—it’s about long-term value, reliability, and professional use.

  • What's the RRP, and what's the saving?
