MyPost Business Updates:

We review our pricing annually and, effective 1 July 2025, we'll be increasing our standard retail prices, from which your MyPost Business rates are calculated. We're also introducing a new Extra Small padded mailer and a 250g domestic rate for your own packaging, which will be available to you in MyPost Business.

The following price changes will apply:

  • a weighted average increase of 1.95% across all Domestic Parcel services

  • MyPost Business pickup services will increase by 1.95%.

These adjustments will help us manage rising processing and delivery costs while continuing to provide a sustainable delivery service. We're also investing in new facilities nationwide, increasing our parcel efficiency with automation, and creating market-leading digital experiences for parcel receivers.

Savings for MyPost Business will remain unchanged across bands 1 to 5, so you'll continue to receive savings on eligible products and services. Domestic and International Extra Cover and Signature on Delivery (SOD) service prices will also remain unchanged. Please read the MyPost Business Rates and Savings Guide for further detail.

You can find more information about our retail price changes by visiting auspost.com.au/pricing-updates.

I use Australia post for two of my side hustles and my main day job, the amount of claimed cases of under declaring of size/weight is getting bloody out of hand. First 3-4 cases I copped it but since then have resorted to taking pictures of two tape measures against the box and on the scale to fight these claims.

The introduction of 250g parcel is welcomed though.

    • It seems to vary between outlets greatly so try a different one if that's an option.

I just cycle accounts with the band 3 code and they cant do anything. I'm not even trying to beat the system. I enter measurements + 1cm and they still say im underquoting.

      • Sendle did this to me a few days ago - I dont know how all 3 measurements with an added .5cm by me, are remeasured adding a further 1cm…

And the new dimensions don't cause a price increase from what I payed, so surely it wont result in a charge request…(knowing sendle it will)
I also took a video of it measured, so come at me Sendle

    • This will be interesting to see and particularly relevant to my business, but this postage size is currently under trial with Aust Post on eBay, the cruncher is the "new" smaller parcel is DEARER than the current rate business senders receive on the current "small" parcel —— so I have a feeling the "new" "smaller" small may be dearer than the current "standard" small.

    weighted average increase

They make it out like this is a bad thing…. Did they not charge by weight? :)

I wish we did stamps like in the UK, first and second class stamps that indefinitely hold their value. Which makes sense, if you paid for a first class stamp and the money is sitting in Australia Post's bank account because you haven't used the stamp for 10 years, then the money would have earned interest and Australia Post wouldn't be losing money when you finally use the stamp.

    • I wish we had a less feral, more reliable postal system that matched the rhetoric.

its actually cheaper for me to send something across the globe with dhl than locally with auspost

I’ve seen people wanting to join a MyPost account.. might look into this

    • They often have promo codes where you can start ln band 3 for a month.

      • yeah but for people like me who will post maybe 1 package a month, it's hard to keep a higher band

I guess a higher price will lead to less articles to deliver.

So, a lower price would lead to more articles to deliver…
    (can't have that).

Isn't it time (post-Covid) Australia Post restored Next Day delivery Guarantee to Express Post?

    Australia Post,
Happily charging you more and more, to consistently lose/damage/delay even more items into the future

It would be fair to say (given the recent Federal Election outcome) and high number of Postal Votes that AusPost delivered it for ALP. lol

Seriously though, isn't it time the Mail side was sold off?

How does it compare with PostNZ…

isn't it time the Mail side was sold off?

Privatising Australian taxpayer funded and built public assets. Yeah it does sound like an ALP position.

      • AP is far worse,it's a hybridised broken version of private/public.Self regulated and in reality not accountable to anyone.
I don't think they could lie straight in bed.
As an essential service for regional Australia, you'd think the likes of Joyce would have his gob all over fixing it, one way or the other. I guess he's like Canavan. One trick pony.

        • private/public

Ahhh one of those fascist arrangements.

  • Team Global Express was set up in 2021 with former Austpost CEO Christine Holgate to run it.
The feckless bureaucrats running Austpost still think they are a government molopoly and can still own the postal/parcel industry.
Thier disgraceful performance during covid, awardig themself with bonuses, days off, work from home, remaining customers became remaining victims.
They stlll have nationally extensive use of Public owned assets, and are gouging everyone.
Take the 20mm limit on post thickness. If they altered their sorting machinery to 25mm, sorry, why would they do that.
Their atest scam for them to cube your parcels is outright theft, and will accelerate their demise.
Look for options. Growth is innovation. So try some of the slightly dodgies. Growth will allow them to sophisicate their businesses

  • Australia Post is one area the Government could control 'cost of living' when you consider how many households use and depend on the taxpayer owned postal service that cries poor but returns a profit to it's single shareholder.

Australia is a big continent with a small population and requires a reliable cost effective mail service. Unfortunately rural and regional population pay unfair rates depending on the direction of service.

Trucks still have to go out and come back, so why have different prices each way ?
