Appears Bunnings are price matching Aldi, ripper price for brushless with a few accessories. Aldi Offer HERE

$100 off? Bunnings need more competition in the market!

    • +1

More competition? Lol that'll never happen

    • +7

https://youtu.be/rummSQJiMUI four corners documentary about the monopoly Bunnings have going on aired the other day.

The brushless angle grinder is down in price to match Aldi if anyone is interested.

Got this from the previous deal. Get this!.

        • It was $44 last year, gone up around 10%, inflation!!!

      • +1

Oh shit here I go buying again - was just looking up a new hand saw to trim the guava trees at home, this might be worth a go.

        • +6

This thing's a beast, just add a Diablo or Kango recip pruning saw blade (don't bother with the included blade), goes even better with the 5.2Ah battery.

          • @ohgee: "Diablo or Kango recip pruning saw blade"
Which blade do you get - have you got a model no. please?

            • +14

@chrisie: First up, they're all a standard fitting so go for the best value blade for the purpose.
For pruning, I've used both Kango and Diablo 9" pruning blades and 12" Kango. Both are great, 9" is better for tighter areas.
              Diablo 9” is also available in a 5 pack for $33.68: https://www.bunnings.com.au/diablo-9-fleam-ground-reciprocat…
Kango 9" 2 pack linked is also available in a 5 pack for $33.90: https://www.bunnings.com.au/kango-9-5tpi-pruning-reciprocati…
This Kango pack with wood, metal and general demolition is also good if you have the need. https://www.bunnings.com.au/kango-5-piece-demolition-recip-s…

Carbide tipped blades (meant to last 50x longer) are also available and I rate Diablo's wood blades that I bought on Amazon 3 for ~$30. But the carbide pruning blade only cuts one direction and gets caught up on branches, not worth the extra cost and thankfully the one I got was only a $5 clearance item.

Happy to answer any questions, I've cut a lot with these saws.

              • +1

@ohgee: Cheers dude, going with the kango 5 pack

              • +1

@ohgee: Many Thanks for your great response :)

              • @ohgee: Does this tool and those blades hold well if I am cutting say a 8-10cm diameter tree branch?

                • +1

@dealt: Yeah, easily. With the shoe firmly against the branch let the tool do the work.

    • +3

Thanks. Told myself I didn't need to upgrade from the non brushless last time it was on sale… I've since realised what a pain it can be to get some special discs in 115mm, but 100 and 125 are everywhere

    • Need to trim the kitchen bench top a few mm to match the stove cut out

Thinking this is the tool to go with the right disc. Am I correct?

      • What is the bench top made of?

        • Pretty sure it's a stone bench top.

          • +4

@dealt: Okay. I'm not sure in that case. I know cutting some of that stuff is bad for your lungs.

            • +4

@shaneb: Yes it's the silica in the stone, need PPE to cut this I think and as a one off shouldn't be significant risk

              • +4

@dealt: Might be best to get a professional in, the risk of damage could be high if you're not sure what you're doing. Having said that, if you're determined to do it yourself, maybe consider one of these? I haven't cut a benchtop so I don't know if that's a recommended use case as such but using this it is easier to cut a straight line and you can adjust to a fixed depth cut. This worked well on pavers for me, you can wet cut with it, reducing the dust massively, but still, WEAR PPE! Buy a really good quality blade for the job, it's cheaper than replacing the benchtop!

                • @A 1: Wow. Impressive saw! I was thinking of just using a diamond saw on an angle grinder (to cut our granite benchtop for the same reason). I might still try a trial cur on an off cut to better understand the feasibility.

              • +3

                @dealt: https://www.cancer.org.au/assets/pdf/a-little-bit-of-dust-ca…

Not just you but whoever is in the house too.

                • +2

@Ponsonby: Yes nobody in he house which is why I was thinking this…but point taken thanks for the inputs guys

              • +1

@dealt: Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) along with PPE is what you need for that job. Wet cut is the answer.

              • +1

@dealt: They talk about there being no safe level of exposure and they've banned it for a reason.

Have a look at how caesarstone's product handling specifications and you'll see that it's actually a pretty intense.

      • Great way to wreck your lungs..

  • Oh hell yeah thanks op

    OMGGG ITS BACKKKK

    • +1

u didn't have to do this u know lol. reason why i bought 1

  • +12

Mine is still unopened from last year's deal.

    • +3

Yeah but how good will it be when u do need it and its there ready to go, saving you ONE out of the customary many Bunnings runs of the year?

      • +1

even better when you finally forget you bought it in the first place and discover it one day in your little shop of red boxes.

        • +6

I am currently reorganising my home work spaces in my shed and storage areas and redoing the lighting too , so I can sit back with a xxxx gold and look at my mini showroom of unused / near mint power tools lol

    • +1

I've used and returned mine 3 times under warranty since last year's deal lol

  • +1

    Been waiting for this! Finally.

  • +7

No idea what the hell i will do with this but buying.

    • +1

      Same. Sigh

      • Once you realise all the things it can do, you'll be glad you have one handy.

        https://www.reddit.com/r/Dewalt/s/oIACYXXQOC

        • I've got dewalt version which you linked, it certainly comes in handy for a variety of small jobs, I use mine regularly.

If you do any DIY at all then I'm sure the Ozito brushless, at this price, will serve you well.

    • -4

No idea what the hell i will do with this

      Circumcisions…

      • Might be ineffective, the material to be cut needs to be HARD

        • +7

and not sure if the "skin only" will help or hinder here….

      • +2

And fittingly, this tool is more than half-off!

    • Lol same here but I guess can just return for refund if I change my mind

  • Can any one please clarify, skin only means no battery but with the accessories which are in the first picture.

    • +2

      Yes, correct.

      • +1

        Thanks shaneb, bought it now.

  • +1

Bought now, will think of its use later 😂

    • +1

Would you recommend this or reciprocating saw for branch prunning?

      • +1

I just ordered the reciprocating saw lol , figured it’s safer to use on a ladder (but only just) and to maintain as just swap out blades , no stuffing around with chain.

      • +3

The pruning saw. The recip saw shakes the branches too violently when cutting in comparison. I have the Ryobi version of the pruning chainsaw and it's better than my recip saw

  • Anyone know the difference with this one? https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-cordless-multi-fun…

    • +3

That one doesn't have a brushless motor. Brushless is much better.

  • I don’t remember paying $149! I’ve used it a handful of times. It’s handy.

  • Far out I can’t have another system. Sticking with Bosch but theirs is like $300.

    • I'm on Makita which is ridiculously expensive. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought them. lol

  • +2

Tempted, but I only have Ryobi batteries. Anyone know of an adapter?

    • +4

they are out there, ugly as a hatful though
      https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005006309171904.html

      • +1

I feel like Ryobi's plan with their battery design was specifically, "We can't stop them buying an adapter, but we sure can make them feel silly using one"

    • +1

Ozito and Workzone batteries are the cheapest on the market so the whole system investment thing is pretty moot with them when the tools get to this price, just get a couple of 4Ah and a charger and you'll be set for a while if you look after them

  • Didnt we get this for $29 last year

    • you might be thinking of the non-brushless version

      • -1

I remember getting the brushless, this and the saw

        Edit: it was actually $44

  • +2

If only Bunnings would match the 8.0AH battery for $99. They would sell a ton of them.

    • With you on this one.

  • -2

What's the difference between this and the $69 one?

Seems like this comes with more accessories for less

  • -1

I recently obtained really, really large tubs of ice cream. Will this be a good scooper?

  • Any Ozito battery + charger deals?

    • they have a small battery maybe a 2ah and charger for $20

      • -2

        it’s $69. :(

        • +1

Some stores still have the $20 for 2.5Ah battery +charger deal
I got this deal at Bunnings Nerang Qld this morning.

          • @zuby: could you please post the receipt? I’m trying my luck tomorrow

    • +1

This will get you into the ecosystem on the cheap. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/875970

This is great value if you have need longer run time and more power but doesn't include a charger.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/904760

      • the 2.5Ah batteries are OOS :(

        • +2

They're still available, try this stock checker link for availability https://bunnings.youinstock.com.au/search/0501102/vic

          • @ohgee: Says 35in stock, are these in store only ?

            • @Ryxxi: If it's in stock at your preferred store it should be available for click and collect and delivery also

              • @ohgee: Oops! This product is no longer available.
We searched 'Ozito PXC 18V 2.5Ah Battery and Charger PXBC-25B - Kit' to find similar.

                • @Ryxxi: they have the kit in store but it’s $69!

                  • @GregFiona: They are different models.. the $69 one is PXBC-250C. $19 one is PXBC-25B

                    • @Ryxxi: oh thank you! I asked the staff and I was only given the $69 option

                      • @GregFiona: You might have to look in the store if the stock checkers says its in stock, I found some at the tools section of Port melb today. $40 for 2 sets.

                • @Ryxxi: It's possible they've changed it to in-store only, like they did with some of the tools today. They were at my local this past weekend, at the end of an aisle in the tool shop, it's in a black cardboard box.
If your store is showing it has stock, trying looking at the ends of the aisle in the tool shop, or just in front outside the tool shop where they put promo stock. Goodluck!

                  • +1

@ohgee: Thanks man, The $20 Battery deal is still up actually. BUT, INSTORE Only. They still have a bunch of these in store. I grabbed 2 ! Port melb store btw. I foudn them at the ozito tools section at my store.

                  • +1

@ohgee: I will check at my local Sydney store tomorrow, I only checked in Canberra today when I was at work

Getting a battery + charger as part of this sander kit ($89) seems to work well if it's of any benefit to you:
      https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-twin-sander-kit-pr…

2.5Ah Battery + charger kit is already $69
Sanders are $64.90 and $42.90 individually already.

Am tempted myself to pick up this multitool and the sander kit above.

EDIT: Scratch that - the instore deal for the '2.5Ah Battery and Charger PXBC-25B' for $20 looks like a go

    • I bought the 4 battery starter kit (2x 2.5ah, 2x 4ah, 2x chargers) and sold half so it only cost me $65. People on marketplace are selling used 4AH batteries for $40 so..

  • +4

cmon whreres the mini chainsaw for $50

    • +1

Any chainsaw tbh would be good

  • Just asking, how is this compared to much more expensive ones, e.g. Bosch blue multitool? Does this make the German Brand's price look justified, or the opposite way?

    • +1

In summary, I believe the DeWalt is better in a few ways BUT at sub-$50, for occasional DIY, the Ozito wins hands down! If I didn't already own the DeWalt, I would get this Ozito right now, even tempted to buy a spare, but I gotta kerb my spending a bit!

I've only used the DeWalt version, can't compare directly to the Ozito as such. The DeWalt though is excellent, it has a large trigger button with variable speed control directly through the trigger (squeeze harder for higher speed) this works really as you're working, go fast, slow easily to cut the last piece without cutting too far. I can see the Ozito has variable speed as well, but it is controlled through a seperate dial (this might be better/worse depending on how you use it), and the start trigger is a switch on top of the unit, overall, I much perfer the DeWalt implementation. The DeWalt has a good LED light with time delay off, "soft start", quick-release tool-free blade change.

      • +1

Thanks for sharing your experience. I just want to know where's the money spent on those real workhorse brands.

  • Thank you!
Was over walking past the reciprocating saws in Bunnings, the $169 glaring at me - been waiting for this deal, can finally return my mates saw and step dads multi tool back to them.
Over $300 of brushless tools for $99.96 delivered, can’t complain’ Thanks OP!
