They are all as bad as each other but I would argue Sony is probably the greediest.
Yeah it's quite insane how much proprietary nonsense microsoft did with the xbox when their previous generation console was failing so hard.
It's ironic that Sony, where every second format they create is ignored by the majority, would be so "consumer friendly" with their console (recent price increases notwithstanding). Then we have MS, who should be doing everything they possible can to make their consoles more popular, deciding that creating a proprietary and expensive storage format (by taking an existing format and locking it down) for new games was the way to go.

It's unfortunate Microsoft implemented a restricted whitelist SSD system on this. That interface is CFastExpress and CFastExpress to NVMe adapters do exist. However, unless you get a SSD model that's whitelisted by Microsoft, you can't use it (and people don't sell them cheap).
Xbox has to know that this was one of the worst design choices they've ever made. Sony just made a better design, point blank.
It's impossible for Xbox consumers to ever price match similar regular form ssds. It also sticks out, meaning it's a good idea to remove it if you're moving.
