Lowest I have seen this expansion card. currently showing -33% through prime international. Imports from Germany. Free international shipping.
note: it's still a rip for 1 TB. so, I'll probably wait until cyber sales to see if they drop further. Since GTAVI was delayed I have a bit of time before I'll need one.

Sony really had a better alternative to this option

at the time people were shitting on sony 'being so difficult' and as time goes on we realise that they really were ahead of the game

and microsoft continues to be a friggin' joke….

they really deserve to be in 5th place… in a 2 horse race

They are all as bad as each other but I would argue Sony is probably the greediest.

      • Yeah it's quite insane how much proprietary nonsense microsoft did with the xbox when their previous generation console was failing so hard.

    • It's ironic that Sony, where every second format they create is ignored by the majority, would be so "consumer friendly" with their console (recent price increases notwithstanding). Then we have MS, who should be doing everything they possible can to make their consoles more popular, deciding that creating a proprietary and expensive storage format (by taking an existing format and locking it down) for new games was the way to go.

I got the 2TB for $110 more in December, also from Amazon Germany

  • Lmao, sometime between July and November for delivery, big oof.

Wonder if the proprietary licence Seagate has to produce these will ever expire. My god they've been milking the Xbox cow for years now.

Already expired. WD is selling XBox Expansion Cards too, but also pricey.

It's unfortunate Microsoft implemented a restricted whitelist SSD system on this. That interface is CFastExpress and CFastExpress to NVMe adapters do exist. However, unless you get a SSD model that's whitelisted by Microsoft, you can't use it (and people don't sell them cheap).

  • Xbox has to know that this was one of the worst design choices they've ever made. Sony just made a better design, point blank.

It's impossible for Xbox consumers to ever price match similar regular form ssds. It also sticks out, meaning it's a good idea to remove it if you're moving.
