  • good find, cheaper than most on shopbot.

  • Now, this is a deal I been hunting for!

Good work Noslee! For those that might be deciding between the for the MX-5500 with this. I would recommend the Wave Pro. I've used both for work, the the Wave Pro is more comfortable to use, especially for bigger hands.

  • I bought MX 5500 only $76 and Im happy with my keyboard and mouse :)
I like the way it has a screen.

    • Hi, I'm also in Melbourne and I'd love to know how you got the MX5500 for only $76, can you please tell me?

  • Gee call me simple but i'd find it very hard to justify spending the extra money for this model over some of logitech's cheaper models…

    • I have an MX5000 - it's a discontinued (MX5500 is successor) $270 keyboard and mouse set that I got from eBay for $150 incl. shipping.

It's a really nice keyboard and mouse - it's a laser mouse so pretty much the only surface it won't last on is glass and the Bluetooth means I can use my keyboard with my phone (handy for typing long messages).

I bought it mainly for the LED screen. But it's really not that useful. It tells you the date and time (which is in the corner of your screen anyway) and tells you the current song that's playing.

So while it's definitely a good keyboard/mouse, I don't think it's worth $270 and it's probably not even worth $150. So you do get something good (I spilt Pepsi through it and it still works fine - it had sticky keys but I cleaned them and they're almost perfect again now.)

  • I don't see the point in spending that much money on a mouse/KB, unless you really badly need wireless… which I don't.

  • Thanks for this post - you saved me just $5 :) on the best I could find and that was with TradeClub.com.au whom I have not previously dealt with.

Nice to have the seurity of a big comany like HP :)

  • Absolutely excellent keyboard and mouse - couple of minor get used to layout problems but far better than my aging MS natural wireless laser mouse 6000 and a MS keyboard with draggy keys if you dont hit them straight on.

The finish and general quality seems a lot better than the MS products,

Postage was included and the courier company they use gives you a call to arrange a suitable day for delivery - can't ask for much more than that :))
