Literally a post for exposing my age.

        Anyway ordered one. Thanks OP

Literally in Japan now on my way to the Bandai NAMCO store to buy one but find myself ordering from the Gamesman lol!

The Tamagotchi Uni sold in Japan has English support if you want a better device and the experience of buying in Japan.

      • Awesome! Thanks for the tip!

    • +8

In Japan, yet still on OzB. The FOMO is real.

  • +4

Do yourself a favour and get the Tamagotchi Connection rerelease. Much, much better than this.

Or the Uni if you want a colour screen and wifi.

Also, a new β€œParadise” release is rumoured soon.

    • Why is it much, much better?

      • +6

Because it has way more features. The originals get boring very quickly. The Connections from the 2000s is peak Tamagotchi devices imo.

Edit: Voted down for answering a question? Okay then.

But the originals is where the nostalgia is at.

          • @AustriaBargain: The Connections have the same vibe as the originals. Just more pixels and more things to do. Has the exact same nostalgia to me.

i want one of those retro digimon device that you can pair with another device and VS each other. Good old days

    • +1

      Yeah Digimon was way better

    • i want one of those retro digimon device

You do know they still make them right? Digimon X only came out a few years ago in Australia and Japan now have colour screen models.

    • I want the Star Wars version with the Rancor your can feed slave girls to.

    • If you look online, it's a good time for that. They're redoing D3s, and you can get colour versions of original Digimon with internal rechargeable batteries.

  • +3

Whats next? Tazo's? Yoyo's? Chia pets?

  • Thanks OP, bought one for the kid to reduce screen time LOL

    • +2

      "for the kid"

    • Nice.

It will captive their attention for 3 whole minutes.

Hehe. Unfortunately modern apps are way too good at keeping people's/kids eyes on the screen and wanting to go back than anything in the past.

      But it's always worth a shot πŸ˜…

  • Unfortunately no eBay Plus active.

  • Thanks OP, bought one for bedrotting

  • Me: hey son check this out , I had one of these when I was your age

    Kid: wow, what’s it do?

Me: it’s a virtual pet! You can feed it, play games etc

    Kid: what else?

    Me: no… that’s it?

    • Exactly why Digimon were the clearly superior virtual pet.

      • You take that back!

        lol

I remember around 1998 primary school there was a kid in grade 7 who would go around and hustle digimon battles for lunch money. Apparently there is a cheat code to ensure always win battle. Not sure if legit or urban legend. Needless to say, digimons like PokΓ©mon cards and beyblades were banned about a week after they hit the playgrounds lmao

        • I remember convincing our teacher that Pokemon cards were educational because it was a maths game where you had to count the HP.

        • Do you remember the alien you could get as a quasi-cheat!? It would always win but would die on its one really quickly. That way you would get it was by using a bit of plastic between the battery and resetting it heaps of times until the alien popped up. Memories.

  • Says out of stock now.

I remember as a teen I had nintendo's take on the tamagotchi called the pikachu pocket or something, it was a pedometer and you could use your steps to gamble on the pokies
