Just discovered you can utilise 2 promos AirNZ is currently running.
First is Grab-a-Seat to NZ (expires in a few hours-sorry) still available
Second is North America on Sale (expires 18 Jan)
Bundled together you can get to LAX from the Goldie - in fine silver(fern) style.
Fares cover the Spring School Holidays, unlike all the other price gougers.
Ex GC = $1950
Ex Mel = $1961
Ex Syd = $1977
Ex Perth = $2487

Go on,I know you want to… where's that OB buying impulse in you …..

I'm looking at USA West Coast dep 22 Sept 2013. No tix booked yet, but using FlightFox for cheap fares. Seems Hawaiian & Delta ex BNE stopover HNL = $1873 - is my best best.

Mod: Removed unrelated affiliate link.

PS. Bummed I missed the OB Qantas $850 return to LAX earlier - and on an A380 :-(

  • Is this just one way?

    • Yes

      • Are you sure that's just one way? Cause OOL-xSYD-LAX-xSYD-OOL is $2721 return.

      • Correction-that's return. Edited title

I'd rather this. Much much cheaper, direct, no need to go to NZ just to catch a connecting flight, some dates still available too.

    • Not for September Holidays. Price gouge = $2500+
      Better (full) service

Just close the window as you fly thru. (4.5 hrs in transit)
They've come to the land of OzBargain - it's pretty ex'y over there I've heard.

      • Once you take into account the exchange rate its cheaper to holiday over there imo.

        • Been there, done that with OB deal GC-ZQN (Queenstown skiing) when AirNZ started direct flight for ~$100 each way
Yes, exchange rate is good ~80%
Looking at USA this time round.
